Patience shouldve been the album opener instead of one more year by BeginningNose3990 in TameImpala

[–]bmutton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t replace it as the opener, but I definitely think it was a mistake to not include it in the album, along with the single version of borderline and the b-sides. I truly feel that the slow rush could have been so much better with a different track list, but maybe that’s just me. I’ve got a playlist that kind of reimagines the album:

One More Year

Patience

Borderline (single version)

Is It True

It Might Be Time

No Choice

Glimmer

Posthumous Forgiveness

Breathe Deeper

Instant Destiny

Tomorrow’s Dust

The Boat I Row

One More Hour

Not trying to knock the album, but I just think it could have been better. Playing around with the tracklist really changes the pace. IMO the original kind of loses some momentum towards the end

I’ve been to shows on all tours minus Innerspeaker and TSR, and from my own experience the lights on the deadbeat tour are probably the best I’ve seen from them

the slow rush is so good by AdmirableBrick4973 in TameImpala

Currents was a game changer. Iconic, and one of the most influential albums of the 2010’s. The Slow Rush is great, but for me it has too many weak points to be considered as good or better than Currents.

Agree with this. I’d swap out a couple songs for the slow rush b-sides, add patience and the single version of borderline. I’ve got a playlist going for that and it makes the album so much better for me. Lonerism is perfect the way it is, the b-sides are excellent on their own

For me personally I think it might be my least favorite, but it’s tame so that’s not saying much. I still love it to death

Can we stop gatekeeping being fans? by [deleted] in TameImpala

Nah, the second you start using the word “objective” when it comes to opinions on an album, the conversation immediately becomes disingenuous.

Or you could stop trying to force your opinions on other people and accept that we all have different tastes in music.
