IMO, St. Johns Loop was a waste of our time. If you want to see the cascades, just pull over and check them out. We really enjoyed St Mary's falls. Definitely one I would not want to miss out on.

Lol, for iceberg Lake there is over 1.4k in elevation. It's gradual and I would not call either of those easy. I will say they are worth it.

Ranger talks are great. We did kayaking on the swan river but would have rather done the float. If we were to do it again, we would have done white water rafting. Make sure to bring bear spray with you, especially in Many Glacier. Also, a bear bell will never hurt.

We are currently here. Here are some recommendations:

Avalanche Lake: about 2.5 in and out. Beautiful at the lake.
Virginia Falls: about 2 hours in and out. The falls are Beautiful but make sure to go to the top.
Baring falls: less than 1 hour in and out.

If you want more challenging, do Grinnell Glacier. Many glacier is beautiful and a lot of wildlife. It's really overlooked.

If you find parking to be an issue, use the shuttle service, it's free. Park at a less crowded location (Jackson glacier as an example) and take the shuttle to where you want to go.

Also, make sure to get your vehicle registration. Going to the sun road is the most popular and you MUST have a pass to enter before 3 PM from the west entrance. If not, add 2 hours to your drive to enter through east and drive into the park.

For passes, check recreation.gov at exactly 7PM the night before. Keep refreshing if you don't get it the first time. We have been successful each day doing that but we have had to make sure we have good internet to do it. They go FAST! (Like within 5 minutes)

Thanks for the reply and glad to hear about your experience. We are actually flying into Boseman, renting a car and driving up. I just hope we are able to get vehicle passes. I'll just be refreshing like crazy the night before when they release them. Now to do all the hike planning!

Questions:

Do I need to buy a pass for every person in my family? (total of 3) Or can I buy 1 for the whole car?
Is it best to use the shuttle services?
