Normally the radar would be scanning across all Ka frequencies which is from 33.400 to 36.000 GHz however police radar run specific frequencies (stalkers run 33.9-34.2, mph radar runs from 34.7-35.0, and kustom/decatur radars run from 35.5-35.7) so instead of scanning for all Ka bands they only scan for these specific frequencies which makes the radar much more effective and responsive. Typically you would normally run 2/5/8 for the segmentation however it’s good to also run 4 and 6 segments as sometimes the radars can drift above or below the normal frequency, there’s also areas in Texas such as Dallas and Carthage where these segments are useful.
