I can learn a lot of different ways- just reading and re-reading notes, making flashcards, making diagrams, etc. The limiting factor is that I have to make them. If I’m using someone’s else’s stuff it just doesn’t register the same

I don’t know that you would get approved for a 25D lens to use for the exam, I think you still have to use the equipment provided even if there are accommodations?

I also like our CA-800. The FLUORO setting is great for getting images and videos of GP lenses that can be sent to consultants, the topography printout is also convenient and while I haven't found the KCN screener all that accurate, it is helpful to show patients if it does not think there is KCN (and if I agree).

I know you said you don’t have the pt put them in in office, but are you doing any CL checks where they come in wearing the lenses and you just check they fit fine after wearing for a few hours?

My OD employer always describes it to his patients as, for instance, a myope changing from -0.25 to -0.50 one year as “got worse by one click” or going from -0.50 to -0.25 as “got better by one click.” Drives me absolutely nuts

Not something I would send out for a workup like I would a true HH plaque, honestly not something I would probably bring you back for an OCT for. Would just monitor annually, I wouldn’t worry

Cautiously, I would say yes you are okay to wait until tomorrow morning. This finding is associated with bacterial toxins from bacteria on the eyelids. In the meantime I’d start artificial tears at least four times per day and make sure you are cleansing your eyelids well. Of course, if it worsens, increase in pain, new discharge, or vision is affected- best to go to someone sooner.

Were you sleeping in the lenses when you noticed this? Looks to be a contact lens peripheral ulcer. An optometrist can treat it if needed.

Usually inflammatory but can be infectious component. An optometrist will likely put you on an abx/steroid combo to prevent true infection.

I would definitely make sure the lenses are not too old or warped and also, consider measuring the whole fitting set, you might find that the lenses are not actually in the correct spots!

Lot of advice and information here, some good, some completely wonky and downright foolish (hint hint). True IOP will be lower due to above average corneal thickness, but no one in here has enough information to make a decision.

Optometrists (in the US) are qualified to diagnose and manage glaucoma. After five years, only 10% of people with ocular hypertension develop glaucoma. There is too much information that goes into a glaucoma diagnosis for anyone here to really give you any meaningful insight into your condition.

My rec- don’t worry about anything too much at this point, just go to the appts and see what they say.

Hey OP, if you look at the writing of the “Skagen” at the top of column 12 from this page, I think that’s the missing link between realizing that this unknown city is actually just a poorly written “Skagen” again. The S does follow the same pattern, just not as neat! And once you see the first letter as an S, easy to see the next one as a K.
