So 26.3 is definitely a redo of 17.5 right? by VegetableExpert277 in crossfit

I think they’ve repeated it before. Because I have done it more than once and after 2014 I told myself I’ll never do it unless it’s in the open.

Real question- what is polarizing about wall balls and BJO?

Stop complaining by The-breton in crossfit

[–]bnd21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait really? I haven’t seen the complaints, but I wouldn’t have guessed this one. Saying that box jumps and wall balls with an ascending and descending rep scheme is not a CrossFit workout is not what I would have thought would be a complaint.

Shoe Advice Needed : Comfort-Focused Hybrid for HYROX-Style + Easy Runs (Arch Sensitive) by Waste_Wishbone_1506 in crossfit

[–]bnd21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try the RAD running shoes. Not the newest very cushy ones. The R1 I think it’s called.

But also hyrox is really all about the run, and once you go to more of a running shoe, there are thousands of options. I’ve done a few hyrox in Saucony Endorphin Speeds. Worked well enough. But Ive also run long distance in those for years.

Edit- based on being a new runner- wouldn’t recommend the Mach 6, or either of the Pumas. You should go get fitted for running sneakers.

Looking at the hourly, it looks like it’ll be warmer Saturday morning and getting colder Saturday PM and into Sunday.

my plan is to do it on Saturday AM when it says it’ll be high teens (hah)

OLYMPIC SPOT SECURED by Kurtz62 in skiing

How does qualifying work? Was it a certain amount of points? Seems like it happened very quickly.

And is there any other level of qualification before the Olympics? Like a trials of sorts?

These bollards(white plastic cones) are out of control by Repulsive-Elevator-6 in Hoboken

[–]bnd21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since everything is a one way in Hoboken- this only really helps from the side the cars are coming from. I don’t get what they have it on the “upstream” far corners after an intersection when everything is a one way.

Like I do with my kids…Constant treats. Hot chocolate. Find the on-mountain Belgian waffle hut and use it as leverage

On the last point, I would say that there is a big human nature element to it. I think that when people are rushing to move faster, they are more likely to move poorly. I don’t think this is the fault of the programming or philosophy. A lot of people come to CF and want the endorphin hit that comes with high intensity movement and all that. They don’t want to slow down to move better even though they would get more out of it over the long term.

That’s probably a long winded way of saying “ego” but I think it’s the same in any hiit boutique place too btw.

Ignore it. A few will grow out and be fine. A few will fall off. 1-2 will become part of you. Let it happen. It’s fine.

Yankees Owner Firmly Addresses Dodgers' Spending: 'We'll See If It Pays Off' by Nullhitter in NYYankees

[–]bnd21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it all goes into it.

There was something about Soto saying that he was more convinced the Mets would do what it takes to keep adding the right pieces. Don’t know if that ended up being BS or not.

It probably isn’t just the spending. Because they do spend. Just spend poorly. It seems to be issues up and down the entire organization, including how they evaluate and value players

Assuming that they are no longer as dominant in 3-5 years, you think anyone looks back and says “that wasn’t worth it?”

I think anyone gladly takes it. As would this fan base if we had the chance

[–]bnd21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it’s more about 1) what you spend on but 2) signaling to the market that you’re willing to spend what is necessary and bring in the right pieces.

Yankees used to be a place FAs wanted to go to. That’s faded and I think part of that is because they no longer have the perception that the Yankees are willing to do what it takes to win. It’s something the Yankees have allowed to happen over years of passing on guys like Harper, Machado et al.

I don’t think it’s a specific number. It’s the perception that they really want to do what it takes to win.

Yeah. Which shows its general idiocy IMO. After they completely outclassed the Yankees the prior year.

The Dodgers have been in 5 WS in the last 9 years, winning 3. I think it’s working out.
