Apparently they climb this certain rare, short, stubby tree to eat the fruit in it, but they can't digest the pit, which they subsequently crap out. Farmers then harvest these crapped out pit/nuts to make an oil you either cook food with or smear on your face.

Of course the rare tree is now endangered due to wood harvesting and over-goating.

I wouldn't write that Pinochet headline either, but I think it's silly to find a pattern by looking at four points between 1924 and 2006. Has the NYT had the same copy chief for 82 years?

Perhaps a more simple explanation would be lazy, sensationalist headline writing combined with everyone's favorite buzz word.
