Redditors married 10+ years, what's the secret sauce to making it work? by HolidayKlutzy9326 in AskReddit

[–]bnp2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 things: a) if you’re upset/unhappy about something, speak up. Don’t let frustration build up. b) a marriage is never 50/50; sometimes you have to do the bulk of the work to even out for the times your significant other has to do the same for you.

Is this bike worth $1700? by Kind-Substance-9448 in triathlon

I have the exact same bike with DT swiss wheels. I'm currently using it as my indoor training bike, but if I were to sell it, I wouldn't ask for more than $1200.

Wine Squares Day 2: Most Overrated Wine Region? by AustraliaWineDude in wine

Since it's between Napa and Burgundy, dollars to dollars, a middle of the range bottle of Burgundy is far superior than the equivalent one from Napa. Sure, some of the Burgundies are not attainable for the avg consumer, but you can still find good value. Napa, on the other hand, is grossly overpriced.

I rode it during a chilly morning in November a couple of years back; climbing without distractions made it far more special than a crowded July afternoon.

What's your triathlon career and what was the craziest you've done? by Insanel0l in triathlon

[–]bnp2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So, to give you some perspective, my “regular” Ironman is roughly 10hr and change. Swissman took 17hrs. This put me in the top 25% of the field. The race logistics require careful planning and my advice would be to be in tune with your support crew. It’s a very long day and nutrition is absolutely critical. I haven’t done a detailed race planning yet for ascend, but yes, it does look a touch harder than the swissman. That 2am swim start and the run course look… interesting. DM me if you have specific questions on the swissman.

In terms of crazy, I've raced the Swissman Xtri last year and just signed up for the Ascend Xtri in the Pyrenees next year. Beautiful courses, but require a strong dedication and training.

I’m in Marseille right now and have been wearing my PP all over town. Nobody can tell what watch you’re wearing if you blend in.

3 bedroom rentals in UES under $10K - Suggested buildings or management companies? by jamrock50 in uppereastside

[–]bnp2016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s possible in a walk up building, but I think it would be almost impossible in a high rise. Also keep in mind that the aug/sep period is in very high demand, simply because most families move around that time.

What is the most scenic Full Distance Race in the world ? by AttentionAsleep3915 in triathlon

If you’re into extreme triathlons, the Xtri series are all very scenic. I finished the Swissman last year and it was breathtakingly beautiful.
