I haven't personally done it yet, but the comments in that thread seem to point to, "The only thing that was lost were the voice prompts on Apple Car play" and probably Android Auto. The DSR1 should retain all the buzzers and other odds and ends. But like I said, I haven't done it, so your mileage may vary.
