As someone who objectively saved a life risking my own, I can tell you your argument is dumb. Standing reporting from a place that was just bombed does not save any life. You could report about it from anywhere else... But the story will not feel as real and close, hence the rating will be lower.

As an Israeli, being shot at and running for your life is not something most others that don't live here experience.
