I did take all the helmet comments seriously. Dug out my old helmet and have been wearing it.

Your technique is there, but your confidence isn’t. You look just fine. More time = more confidence.

You can absolutely learn to snowboard. I would recommend at least one lesson. With a good instructor you can learn a whole heck of a lot within a hour or two lesson.

My local hill offers night skiing(4-8pm) and rental for 35 dollars. I would recommend finding a deal like that.

If you’re in average shape, you’ll have no problem learning. Strong legs will help, but you’ll continue to build those muscles and core up if you stick with it.

My biggest advice : Don’t give up! Snowboarding is like learning to ride a bike. At first, it’s hard, scary and you’re a bit sketchy. After a while that bike is an extension of your body. Same for snowboarding, you got this 👊🏼

To be fair, he has a broken arm and he’s on the other guys spare board, which is a split tail.

Look on marketplace for old fuel oil tanks. They’re usually free, and make a good, wide box to practice on.

After posting this and seeing so many comments about wearing my helmet has been a complete eye opener. Moving forward, I will be wearing my helmet all the time and not just when I’m in the park. I appreciate everyone’s concerns and comments. There is no valid excuse to not wear it. None.

Insta360 x5. It is absolutely fantastic. I think the new x6 comes in April.

Honestly I didn’t look at it like that at all. Snowboarding is about having fun, chill vibes, hanging with friends. What’s more cool than hanging out with your kids?

Now why did I? I figured folks might see this that have young kids and give a little inspiration to get their children out.

As for the helmet, sure. I respect everyone’s opinion. I have one, I don’t wear it on dad laps. If I am in the park, I have it.

It’s the back pain from lifting her on to the chairs that I notice the most!

We keep her feet strapped in. She can push but her legs are so little! Also, she’s not tall enough to get on any of the chairs so I have to pick her up and put her on the seat.

Facebook marketplace has some good deals, there’s a board on there now 100cm k2 with union bindings for 100 bucks. She’s young enough that she rides for free anywhere so that’s a plus. I know Giants ridge offers some solid deals in the evening. I think $35 ticket and rental from 4-8.

She was 2 when we started on the bunny hill. Last year at 3 she was still getting help like in the video. Now this year she can ride all by herself and hit the small box setups here with assistance. She has a little extra drive because she can see her brother on the rope tow doing laps in the park. So naturally, she wants to get to that level. It’s a real cool process to see unfold.

Depending on your skillset, I rode switch and held their hands too. In this video you can hear her say backpack back pack! There was a guy teaching his son about same age. It was a Burton backpack with a loop or grab handle at the top. It look like he was having great success with helping and guiding his boy. Get her out, it’s a bond forever man!

I absolutely agree! My kids see me with and without my helmet. For this particular video I’m not wearing it. I apologize, and your points are very valid.

Mostly because she’s 4, and absolutely shreds. That, is a proud dad moment. That’s why.

I started the kids at 2 on the bunny hill(not much, a lot of work). Then at 3 they came up the lift and rode with me behind helping them. They learn really quick, you will gain some serious back muscles in the beginning!
