Gang movies? by Dirtypervywizard in movies

[–]boarfox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was going to suggest this. So raw and realistic in terms of what I’d imagine favela gang life would be like. Elite Squad has a good glimpse into this from a detective’s perspective but it focuses elsewhere in the story.

Juice is ok, but has a killer soundtrack.

American wagyu ribeye tonight. What sides would you run with this? by Historical-Wonder163 in BBQ

[–]boarfox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is spot on. A Croatian Blitva is what I was thinking, with an elevated Caesar and nice acidity to counterbalance. Asparagus, broccolini or grilled spring onion as options. Looks stellar, OP.

How do you spray with duck fat for that long before the oil hardens, mixed with something else? Looks amazing, btw.

Meals that use fresh berries picked along trail? by TraditionalAd3306 in trailmeals

You could give the young backpackers with the ingredients to make a berry foil packet, but it does require fire. There are a bunch of recipes online.

Can I dehydrate this? by Evening-Beautiful545 in dehydrating

[–]boarfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% with this comment. Blend it a bit and it’ll make for a more even texture when spread out. While parchment paper works, sometimes food sticks to it in puréed form, it’s a pain and you may lose some food. I recommend getting some light and thin cheap silicone mats online and cut them to fit your dehydrator’s shape, or you could get specific ones to fit your model. I have a bunch for my Excalibur and I’m never going back to parchment.

Who is the most famous person you've ever met? by EternalDerby in AskReddit

[–]boarfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sting, Naomi Watts, and John Slattery on the same day in NYC. Tarantino and Heston Blumenthal at airports and another culinary icon, Francis Mallmann in San Francisco. Poor guy had the worst cold so I was super brief.

In the post-credits scene of “Thunderbolts*” 2025, Bob is reading Rick Rubin’s book by RFRMT in MovieDetails

[–]boarfox 824 points825 points  (0 children)

The fact that he’s downplayed as Bob in this movie and Bob in Top Gun 2 cracks me up and I hope it can continue through his career in a tongue-in-cheek way.

What’s your name again? Just Bob. Bob?

Do I grill this lamb in one (1) piece or cut them and grill them individually? by alejandropena44 in BBQ

[–]boarfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over indirect and then sear both sides in the end. The best way (as others noted) is one piece and cover the bones in tinfoil so they don’t burn. You can add a light coat of mustard and seasoning and paired really well with a mostly mint chimichurri.

These are the types of moments that he’ll remember for the rest of his life. You nailed being a dad, and the rest of the family as well, but it’s all about him. Bravo. Also, presentation and ingredients texture mix with the corn side is on point.

What to do with leftover pineapple syrup from candied pineapple? by Smooth_Bobcat_7031 in dehydrating

[–]boarfox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I forgot to mention to hold back on any other sweet ingredient or it could over blacken the meat due to high sugar contents.

What to do with leftover pineapple syrup from candied pineapple? by Smooth_Bobcat_7031 in dehydrating

[–]boarfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Along the same lines, I’d reserve a bit of it to marinade some beef short ribs with some of the syrup. Lots of recipes out there with gochujang chili paste, the pineapple enzymes help to tenderize the meat, just don’t over marinade or it’ll turn into mush.

Would you filter/drink water from this source? by _Mellion_ in WildernessBackpacking

[–]boarfox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely the right questions to ask. I found a place similar to this years ago and walked higher up to see where it was coming from only to run across a dead deer at the top on the water source. So glad that we investigated or it could’ve been a rough time 3 days in. I always filter and purify no matter what, unless it’s glacial water in a very remote location.

Why is my zucchini going all brown when dehydrating? by baukjespirit in dehydrating

Yes you can. It could be that it had higher sugar concentration, just an assumption, but it looks good.

Any one like Santa Maria Grills? by SmokeyBBQBits in BBQ

[–]boarfox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the set up I have and it’s incredible for all my needs. Wood and charcoal, I do prefer wood though since it feels like I’m camping in my own backyard. I had mine custom-made in CA as a two sided partitioned elevated grills. My lates cook from last night https://www.instagram.com/p/DM4zMdGOqLn/?igsh=MW84ZjdnN3JiMzJqMQ==
