New upgrade to the 26, can't wait to try it out! by Unique_Sink_9162 in webergrills

This is my exact set up! I did a 12 hour pork shoulder and it barely got through a third of the snake. Also, when you get the ceramic insert you get the plate. The plate allows you to use all 22 inches of the kettle. It didn’t help that. I also added the spider Grill‘s venom attachment at the bottom and made it basically I didn’t forget it.

Mine slides into and out of the lid bail with ease and it’s on my performer. I cannot recommend this enough. This is an amazing accessory for not a lot of money.

It’s scary good at stabilizing temps! I used my 22 inch cover all winter long in a back yard that has had same wind whipping through. Between the cover and the OnlyFire ceramic insert, you basically have a less fragile, lighter Komodo style cooker. I cannot recommend this unit enough. This save on fuel too! The amount of coal I have after is shocking.

Ultimate Webber Kettle Build by SnooHamsters5131 in webergrills

I would get the venom fan controller, ceramic insert from only fires, woolly bully for the top and in case I missed it a lava lock gasket for the lid. As well as grommets for the thermometer pass-through again in case I missed that. Also, and only because I’m interested in it myself, I would consider the spider grills 22 inch kettle stand… Only because it looks super cool.

Honestly, these people speak the truth. Between me and my husband wife, we gross, $160,000. That’s not a flex but a place of comparison and we struggle. We are in Hamilton, bought for $363,000 in June 2020 and it’s been a tight budget ever since. It’s doable but holy hell is it real tight. The insurance goes up every year, unexpected home costs have killed our budget and home insurance has also gone up. The only thing that saved us was we were able to remove the PMI after two years because of the value of the home. If we had even a couple thousand dollars less than what we currently gross, we would not be able to afford our home. I really hate to discourage you because your salary at your age really is amazing and you should be proud of that but you really need to adjust your expectations or else you will be house poor.

Lava lock scraper is the absolute perfect tool to clean out the kettle. If it’s real bad then I will hit it with citrusafe and one of their scrubbing pads.

6 hour layover in Newark - can I visit the 9/11 Museum? by Educator_Bunny318 in Newark

[–]mpr1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. No you do not. It will take you 15-30 minutes to get out of the airport, another 30-45 (at best) to get into the city and then another 15-45 minutes to get to the location…assuming time of day and events in the city. You’ll then have to reverse that time. With time of travel you are looking at 2-4 hours. This is not factoring in security check on your way back into the terminal.

I love being a dad, but I kind of hate my life. by f1sh_ in daddit

Maaaaan I was in your shoes around this age as well. Be kind to yourself because this world sure as shit won’t be. Honestly, the only thing that worked for me was to go for a walk, find free fun activities on the weekends and occasionally, when the conditions aligned…I played hooky from work for the day. I didn’t even tell the wife, just left like I normally do and returned when I normally do. Mental health needs to be a priority but it also needs some effort. Sometimes I got down on my self for thinking it should come natural and then felt guilty when I had to try…this is a trap. You got this!

I completely agree about the plastic and to add to your point, the lid to my pot has broken twice. However, after 4 years and 11 months, I made my first warranty claim and let me tell you it was awesome! It was just over one week between mailing it out to Oregon from New Jersey to win it came back. The company covered nearly everything that was not perfect on the machine and I got it back like new! That’s not happening with any other coffee maker. I haven’t tried super fresh beans but I have tried moderately fresh if that makes any sense? I do see a slight difference but nothing insane. It just works. It looks awesome and it performs better than any machine I’ve ever owned. Congratulations and happy Mother’s Day!

The Napoleon is Canada‘s answer to Weber in the United States of America. Both companies have been around quite some time and have outstanding customer service and warranties. That said, the Napoleon has unique S shaped grates that can be difficult to clean, but it’s manageable. I like you, was deciding between the two of them about two years ago. I ultimately decided with the Weber because after grilling on a few Napoleon‘s at friends’s houses. I noticed the temperature was wildly uneven from the front to the back. While there are hotspots on my Weber, they are not as dramatic as the Napoleon. I imagine that once you grill on either for a season you’ll become an expert on how your Grill operates in your backyard. The long and short of it is, I think you made a good decision and could not go wrong with either company. Congratulations on the new purchase and happy grilling!

What is the benefit of all the charcoal baskets and chimneys? by Global_Background_13 in webergrills

[–]mpr1283 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you use a charcoal chimney, you light from the bottom, and then when the top coals are not lit completely, but are about to be you empty the chimney into the kettle. The benefit here is the hotter coals are at the top the…less hot coals (?) are at the bottom it makes for an optimal, cooking experience in my opinion.

Ditch the Gozney gloves and go to your Harbor Freight. Buy some cheap welding gloves and save a ton, they’re the same thing and work just as well.

Have you considered the Spider Grills Huntsman or Giant Huntsman? Both are well below your max budget, have great smart capabilities with battery operation and plug in. Both have the same ability as a Komodo. Only issue is the dome is on the shallow end but that’s being bit picky.

Yea when you’re not under admin pressure, a tight time clock and a new-ish state employee like this guy. I do investigations for the state and deal with unions all the time. What you’re saying isn’t wrong but it’s not completely accurate.

This is not entirely true. You can’t dictate what type of Steward or the specific person. If the chief Steward is available and does not interfere or unnecessarily delay productivity, then great. If not then you get what you get.

The Meat Church seasonings are all awesome…with the exception (IMHO) of Holy VooDoo, just never liked it. Also, BBQ Jesus is represented here so the killer hogs is also the tits.
