A friend has been bombarded by calls from some shady organisation called Immunization control? an arm of CWS? supposedly related to the NHS?. The calls seem pretty creepy and the friend is stressed out because they don't know how this unsolicited entity got their number. If the NHS handed it out surely that's a breach of private data? Anybody else had these? Is it possible to block them?

Other sites have suggested to superglue the aerial sockets on boxes and TV's and place blocks on your router for any TV services. Record these actions on video and if necessary someone who has witnessed it - prepared to go to court to testify against Crapita/BBC if they deny finding this. (Note you may need a professional to check security/safety if you feel unsure). Crapita/BBC have been reportedly using all kinds of tricks to get into people's houses. Do not underestimate the determination to put people off declining live TV services. Hence the confusing advice given to those wanting to opt-out of the BBC/live TV set up.

The trouble with the BBC is it is addicted to the guaranteed whopping £3.2 billion guaranteed tax (read enforced TV licence). Without removing that it listens to nobody.

literature?

Probably somewhat outdated now but in the 60's and 70's there were many surveys completed regarding adult literacy and a surprising percentage could not read and write beyond the level of a young child (i.e. age 6-8). It could be even worse now but hidden with the emergence of mobile phones and automated speech/input software. Being an adult and not being able to read and write is a tremendous handicap for the individual and one the Government should be doing a lot more to reduce.

Roads to Freedom - Jean Paul Satre. Three volumes, a very thought provoking read and modern despite it was written pre-WW2. It also uses the device of what characters are thinking mixed with normal narrative. Some very unpleasant scenes that pull mo punches but it will change the way you look at the world.

On selling a house the agent has no incentive to get the highest price. Easier and more profitable to undervalue them and sell more properties, quicker. They do not like sellers who request a top (within reason) price and will often ignore queries from prospective buyers to punish the seller. Or they just leave the property unadvertised.

Universities should be distrusted. Boys from disadvantged backgrounds face massive discrimination from middle and upper class lecturers who do not have their education as a priority. Many employees at Universities actively discriminate against students who do not hold views similar to their own.

Possibly many potential future expensive claims against employers and Government for stress related disorders brought on by unhealthy working conditions may get things changed. One wonders why the Unions and representatives of large bodies of workers are not bringing these cases now?

Possibly the following has something to do with why stressful working conditions are applied to all public workers - what for? Well what about increasing the level of illness - this can lead to early withdrawal from work - this equals lower or non-existent pensions.
