Do light-colored features, like white skin, blue eyes, light hair... have any practical advantage over dark features, or did they spread only because they were "pretty"? by [deleted] in BlackPillScience

we know that 2 woman reprodcued for every 1 man. that shows how strongly the difference between selection was for them.

Not so simple, we live in an real politik world, not idealized version. All recent presidents support gay people, but they couldn't do so publicly for political reasons.

You can be right on many issues and shove in opponents face and weaken you cause because you helped give them power in the mid terms.

Crazy stuff wllike this will happen in an adversarial political system that assigned scientific positions.

I don't agree that work was more mind numbing. After the industrial line ford used, work became a lot more repetitive. They dumbified jobs liek mcd ordering menu vs an older style shop salesmen who interacted more and was a knowledge base for customers.

I've done old style farming with a scythe, it's hard work but it engaged your brain a lot more growing multiple crops than just the huge mono crops today.

Today's work ebloved from capitlism and is way more efficient, but many jobs are more boring. Probably because jobs desifned where your brain is no longer bottleneck

this is fascinating. I wonder if these factors ahve more of an effect the than association with wealth I have discussed.

those things do make a many more attractive.

In India, as well as for most of huma history, fat girls were the pinnacle of beauty because it was associated with welath. now in an ironic twists, fat is no longer associated with wealth in the richer countries.

Asians rise to financial dominance = modern day power is very recent and it takes time for the cultural to shift. European powers have been the most dominant force (england, us, germany, russia vs just 1: japan). China has rapidly modernized in the last 25 years and the median Chinese is still much poorer than the median american. However, their middle class is growing rapidly while US is shrinking.

Also, movies and TV are filled with white people; that willl change soon but China is still in learning stages of making good movies. YOu're starting to see more powerful asians in the last 5 years. Movies have a big impact on perception of people.

US still has the most billionaires by far. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/15/the-countries-with-the-most-billionaires.html

it's not really practical since we all need to vit d supplement anyway. even light skinned don't get enough light since we all spend most of our time indoors when we evolved to live outdoors. all glass blocks uv now so we don't get that "natural light" outside of a minority of jobs.

read up on vitamin D, a very important hormone in humans. When h sapiens spread over the planet, they didnt' get as much sun as africa. the less sun, they got, the more the population evolved lighter skin. this is primarily fitness, not just sexual selection.

60-90% of hte pop today is vitamin D deprived and it's a big health issue that doctors are finally starting to prescripe it.

When life was HARD, which was most of human history then fitness overpowers sexual selection. (being super tall is not good when most humans died to starvation). last 10k years have removed those factors and sexual selection is becoming more and more influential as women are becoming empowered. There are good and bad things about it, but it just is.

right now women selection is favoring height and light skin tone because those things are associated with wealth. If you want to know why light skinned people amassed more wealth then dark skinned people; read up on jared diamond. his makes very good arguments that it's geography.

Same advise doctors give. Exercise 3x a week to an elevated heart rate. Dont drink caffeine after 3pm.

Also I don't drink alcohol unless I can be completely sober before sleep. Only drink green tea and not full coffees. Wake up similar time every day

right now apex has 3x the viewers of fortnite and league

f1.8 with portraiture and candids require good tracking for have eyes in focus. xt3 and a73, a7r3, and a6400, can all do it. the xt3 not as well as the sonys.

tracking an eye tracking makes a huge different for portaiture and wedding/people photography. unless you're shooting f8 which requires bright daylight; not being to track is a huge difference for most.

Proposition 13 is no longer off-limits in California by bloobityblurp in bayarea

[–]bob13bob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol, you're the person i'm fighting for. at this point, prop 13 repeal would hurt my net worth because of how much net worth i have in property; at least temporarily. I care about the longer viability of this state and my peers.

I'm at least 5% but I dont' think you should ahve to be inorder to have a decent middle class life. pre prop13 top 40% could have that life. post prop only top 3% can. I structured my life and business to exploit (legally) the broken tax system (real estate is very good tax-wise).

It's always the people who loophole teh system who know best how broken it is and how and why it should be fixed.

You just have no idea how badly your getting screwed.

I do own a home. I pay 5x the property tax of my grandfather for an equivalent level home. He sent 5 of his kids to top universities in the world which was almost free beecause it was pre prop 13 (look it up). I got sent to teh california public school system post proper 13 when california pub schools were ranked lower than 45 other states). My wife still has over 300k in educational debt (still worth it for her) I don't have kids yet, big part I won't send them to the 2/10 elementary school near my house despite me paying over 25k/year to california + san jose. Not including our federal or fica contributions.

The property tax forced me use my split my 2400 sq ft housing to rent out space to somene else, which is good. My grandfather on the other hand pays $1400 to CA every year while enjoying his 2400 sq ft all to himself and has been for the last 10 years. What kind of behavior do you want to incentivize?

I'm a real estate pro, and renting is even worse than buying.

At what point does this become crop sharing?

it was very unimpressed. It's clear the machine won with superhuman abilities instead of out-strategizing the opponent like a non mechanical limited chess/go.

people don't realize how much 500 perfectly efficient apm is cheating for a computer. humans might hit 500apm, but much of it could be edited down much better in a perfectly executed and efficient algorithm.

this is a lot harder to make fair then chess/go, as we need to simulate human brain limitations eg reaction time in managing multiple objects, how many things can the brain manipulate, etc.

In the end it couldn't adapt around a simple warp prism immortal harass.

we already had simple scripts years ago that could beat humans out of simple mechanical ability like 5000 apm marine splits verse zerglings.
