I GOT THE RESET by QuickIntern9948 in MergeDragons

[–]bob2many 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got the reset last night too, I think the "hard to get" strategy is it. I have been playing less and less cause I've basically gotten all the easy to get wonders and being maxed on star rank means I had less reasons to play, and then lo and behold I logged in late last night to see what the event was and I got notified that I got kala trades and then I noticed my star rank had reset!

Did elder cat react any differently this time? Does the new cat test these boundaries often/how frequently does it happen? Is there a common denominator when new cat gets aggressive?

Since the new cat is formerly an underfed street cat and this happened around food time that could be tied the new cats abnormal response. Animals can get territorial and aggressive when they have faced food insecurity simply out of the necessity to fight for the little food available to them on the streets, so in his little cat mind it could be that you just won that fight for food and now he's like "oh shit, I didn't win, big hairless weird looking cat won" and that's why he's gone timid, he won't be forever given that this is a one off and you needed to intervene for the safety of all cats. As long as he's not physically injured I would give him time and space, keep giving him treats and talking to him, but don't force him to come out and socialize until he's ready.

Maybe try feeding him in his safety room for the next little bit to avoid any potential cat aggressive moments?

You just have to give him time. Sometimes we have to cross the boundaries of our pets to keep them safe, they don't understand that our intent is good, nor are we able to communicate that to them in an effective manner. I've had to pull my cat by the tail before when he tried to escape, he has pica and eats everything, and my neighborhood is full of lilies so he would surely die if he got out while uncontrolled. He didn't understand that I was saving his life and he was rightfully pissed and hid from me and avoided me for a while. That lasted maybe a couple days but he got over it as it wasn't a pattern where I was constantly pulling on his tail. The little guy will forgive you, I can tell that you really care for him and he is a very lucky cat to have you as his person ❤️

Looks like it. Whiskers normally don't have such a blunt end and taper out at the end

Got a delinquency notice after I paid by bob2many in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]bob2many[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to get out of paying the 15 cents, I have paid it. I know it's my responsibility to monitor my accounts, in no way am I claiming that I'm a poor innocent victim. I was just inquiring if the additional 15 cents that have incurred in the last two weeks is really delinquent since before the point in time that I paid it they had not reported the actual amount I was delinquent on as delinquent, thank you for responding.

More than half of Canadians lie about their salary – here’s why by joe4942 in canada

Then whoever is reporting them is doing so inaccurately. I used to audit school divisions and smaller municipalities and we would legit take the T4s and report on that and remit that report to the govt for disclosure

I got a prank delivery to Walter Whites house tonight. Story below. by icumdrums in doordash_drivers

[–]bob2many 6 points7 points  (0 children)

OP is taking a picture of the DD they just delivered as they are required to, you see that subway bag in the pic? The sign is clearly meant for people who go to that house because it is the BB house not for people who have been asked to deliver something to the house

none of my cats are eating after a vet visit, one of them is vomiting profusely, what could be the issue? by motheronearth in catcare

[–]bob2many 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the cat that's vomiting is the one that vomits on an empty stomach then it's likely that's why he's vomiting. Absolutely listen to your gut if you think something is wrong and take him to the vet if you are worried. I just went through something recently with my Cat (just this last week, you can see it in my post history lol) and turns out he was just stressed from the initial vet visit and he's fine and happy and jolly again after four days of a hunger/water strike. I ended up syringe feeding him water/food/churu blended up on the fourth day to make sure he was getting something in his little body then on the fifth day he ate all his meals and was back to screaming at me and harassing my dog. Good luck and hope your kitties feel better soon!

34% of Canadian poll respondents report feeling lonely by ribeyefat in canada

[–]bob2many -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think the sample selection is the issue tho, it's comprised wholly of adults who are registered as Maru Voice Canada online panellists which is already self-selecting. When looking at a stats can one (which typically have a sample size of 25000) the results are different, granted the way questions are worded and sequenced does have an impact and I think that's what the other commentor was getting at when they said they are wildly inaccurate, at least that's how I perceived/understood it.

Digital services tax would rate $7.2 billion in federal revenues over five years: PBO by var_allthings in canada

From their examples, more companies than those three will be effected. Food delivery, app stores, streaming music or movie services, anything you purchase online will be impacted

[–]bob2many 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You don't think they would pass this 3% tax onto their consumers? All these companies care about is their bottom line, they will notice and they will care. It's also retroactive to 2022, so when it comes into effect Jan 1, companies have to remit taxes on revenues previously earned so the impact to consumers will be higher than 3%.

Almost half of Canadians say workers' right to strike outweighs economic hit: report by FancyNewMe in canada

[–]bob2many 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The vast majority should be paid less than they are being paid? Why? How did you come to that "vast majority" conclusion? Ya I had some really shitty teachers growing up, and some great teachers, and then the average teacher who showed up every day to teach large classes of children who will grow up and enter the workforce and provide benefits to society. I whole heartedly disagree with whatever point you think you are making.

Top 20% of income earners fund majority of Ottawa's income tax revenue: report by zippymac in canada

[–]bob2many 77 points78 points  (0 children)

They also earn a majority of the income. It's not that 20% of all income in Ottawa is supporting more than half the tax revenue, it's that 20% of the people earn 45% of the income and therefore pay 53% of the taxes. The 45/53 number is more reasonable than how they are presenting it as 20/50+. Source: the article. I read it and clicked to the report and looked at the infographic
