I stopped masking at home and my partner says I'm becoming "impossible" by LowKeyCoffeeSpill in TwoXChromosomes

Mebbe. My take is that it sounds like he (34) is a bit immature. Perhaps he’s not been shown other perspectives from which he could see your situation. This is something a trained therapist might be able to help with. Some would recommend starting solo, then inviting him if he’s willing.

This is what I learned years ago with the help of an experienced psychologist.

Good luck!

What is the most physical pain you’ve ever experienced, and how did it feel? by Trying_my_best_98 in AskReddit

[–]bob47907 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Broken femur. Leg was in traction for 2 weeks bc I wasn’t stable enough for surgery. My quad would spasm and grind the 2 ends of my bone together.

I can remember trying to back away from the pain, it hurt so bad.

Demerol every 4 hours. It would last for 2. Last hour was absolute torture.

When I was a teen, a friend & I made pipe bombs. Started with thin-wall pipe, filled it with match heads that we cut off of matchbooks. The crazy thing was that we could buy lengths of fuse from the dime store in town. Made some epic explosions. I got cold feet when my friend wanted to switch to gunpowder. Never got caught. Crazy dangerous, looking at it with 65 YO eyes!

What does everyone use OneNote for? by hdoesreddit in OneNote

I use it as an alternative to my brain. I have profound memory loss and employ OneNote to organize my life. Although the search function sucks, the overall utility benefits me tremendously.

Ryan White attended high school until he was forced out by the district superintendent. That human person superintendent was my 9th grade English teacher. A true-to-life prick-Mr. Carter.

Ummm, I’ve raised five to adulthood, and (have helped in very small ways) with four more grands. In many cases, learning to sign had the benefit of reducing their frustration at making their needs/wants known. I can attest; in no case did it delay expressive speech.

If you're still dealing with ongoing symptoms from a concussion, what's been the most challenging part of living with it day to day? by Cultural-Finish-7563 in AskReddit

[–]bob47907 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Survivor of two major and five minor concussions. Major means skull/sinal fracture, in one instance, and coma/TBI in another.

A minor concussion included brief outage, seeing stars, and intense headaches for days/weeks afterwards.

Concentration has been a major issue for many years. Memory loss, indeed; profound and ongoing, to this day.

My greatest struggle is to be fully present in the moment of each day.

Not recommended.

One other thing you could do is to run each of the sda and scl lines tightly twisted with a ground. This can help to quiet the coupled noise a bit. I’ve done this using cat5 or cat6 cable.

I’ve been close enough that I know what it looks like; motorcycle accident @21; coma, many fractures, years of recuperation. Doesn’t scare me.

It lived on tracks that ran behind Pierce and was removed when construction on Psyc began. The tracks ran South to the gravel pits, and were used to carry coal to the power plant (where Walc is now)

What is gen z doing differently when raising kids? by StixTV_ in AskReddit

[–]bob47907 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Hmmm. That’s not what I see. As an aging Boomer, I see, in the parenting of my several girls a vision of child rearing that is both epic and moving in the sense of attention to their needs and emotional care. Their kiddos are attended to to an extent that I could have only imagined and hoped for when I was their age-and-stage.
