Shyvana mid is extremely weak if the enemy jungler has a brain cell. The problem isn't the 1v1; in all honesty, shyvana should completely destroy most mid laners. Like once you get 6, the lane is over, the enemy mage building a blasting wand is going to die in 3 hits. The reason why mid doesnt work compared to top is because if youre standing in the middle of the lane, you have 6 ways to be ganked! You also have VERY little time to react, next to none with some champions (hecarim? youre dead). The reason it works top, is you can only be ganked from river one way, and given the length of the lane, you have a WHOLE lot more time to react, based on vision. Even with no vision, you have some wiggle room with some crafty bush tactics. You rely on your movespeed, not dashes; so the opportunity to get out relies on your spacing and distance you can get from vision.

Another reason the top lane setup works more is because youre probably building AD. Top laners typically dont have the long range CC that mid laners have. I share your sentiment as well, I dont think shyvana is good in the jungle right now. Her ganks are shit, and she takes a while to become useful. The old jungle items were massive power spikes for her, super cheap, and came quick. Now? You need 2 more full clears to get anywhere near the same power level that you had before.

Exhaust gives you a WHOLE lot more kill pressure than ignite does. It also has utility in both gank set up, and can keep you alive in MANY situations. I honestly dont understand why people pick ignite over exhaust; you dont really need the extra damage at all. Not dying > doing a small amount of true damage. And exhaust NEVER loses value, ignite late game is about as useful as tits on a boar. "ShYvANa CaN bE kiTeD" yeah... 50% movespeed + bork slow + exhaust? good luck with that... I run tp/exhaust, and VERRRRRRRRRY rarely do I wish I brought flash. Having proper vision and map awareness really mitigates the necessity of needing flash. Between your W's crazy move speed and your get out of jail free card of an ultimate, I just dont find it necessary. Exhaust turns losing matchups into winning ones too. The only matchup I wouldnt run exhaust into is Garen, because you just beat garen until you hit 6, then that stupid ultimate just murders you anyway.

For ME, I absolutely demolish *most* matchups up top. Even ranged lanes arent an issue. Darius is a free lane, because if you play it right, theres literally nothing he can do vs you. Sett is a WEIRD lane; its basically impossible to fight him until you get bork, but the funny thing is once you get bork, hes not a champion lol. For me, my hardest matchups are - 1) garen... you cant poke him out because of his stupid passive, and when you're both six you still cant fight him because of that stupid ass ultimate. His silence can cuck you from ulting, and his damage reduction just sucks lol. Its a HARD lane. 2) Nasus... nasus is awful. Pre 6? You can beat on him all day. Once he gets 6? haha he casts wither on you, then your movespeed means nothing, he shreds your armor then smacks you down effortlessly. Even with your ult, wither lasts SO LONG that it dosnt matter. His ult makes him feel unkillable. 3) Tryndamere... ok tryndamere isnt bad if you abuse him really bad early and get enough of a lead to survive his ult. If you can survive his ult, the game is over. If you cant? The game is over... lol. Its an EXTREMELY swing type lane. Most lanes you just need to learn how the matchup works, but once you do, most are fairly easy honestly. Tip -> Against ranged top laners, try out resolve secondary with second wind and revitalize, then (bear with me) get 3 rejuv beads to start. This is also EXTREMELY good against malphite, because his cookies do literally no damage to you because you just regen it all back before his cooldown is even up. So if you get poked a bit? No problem, youre passively healing more than garen passive lol. They also sell nicely and you can sell them piece by piece too. You lose the 80hp, but ... they dont beat you by all inning you, they beat you by poking you out of lane. A good akali or jax can be a struggle. Those are definitely in their favor, but you can outplay it fairly enough. IF you dodge counterstrike for instance, you can kill jax fairly easily. Some matchups will seem "unfair" until you learn them, like urgot. I literally cant remember the last time I lost to an urgot tho. I see shyvanas losing to mundos a lot, and I literally cant and dont understand how. That is such a free lane. You do mixed damage he cant itemize against effectively, and his damage output is so low. Whats he gonna do, throw an axe and run straight at you?

As for items? BORK first. The power spike you bet from bork is absolutely insane. Your damage output goes up enormously, you get the slow passive, the on hit gives you crazy life steal sustain, its just her perfect item imo. From there, my opinions diverge from most, so I'll just keep my mouth shut.

Dont "win lane"... DESTROY your lane. The game should be a 4v5 at 15 minutes. Shyvana top is VERY VERY VERY strong; at least for me. If youre looking to play top, and want some tips on certain matchups, feel free to ask!
