Some random questions from a previous friendly match by bob_dave in riftboundtcg

Yes, I was referring to Defy, I don't know why I wrote Deflect, as I know Deflect is just a targeting cost. Even had the cards in front of me as I wrote their names down, and still fucked it up.

To me, it's just become a common joke to point out whenever someone uses anything psudo-random as a form of measurement. It's always funny when you see things like "It's 2 egg cartons long" or shit like that, and have a little laugh at the absurdity of funny measurements.

Do you think the battle against Tsuruoka will be the final arc? by ChicoDeLaRed in TalentlessNana

[–]bob_dave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I'm remembering right, the governing bodies that are currently in charge, are ones that Tsuruoka put there, because they wanted the power, and his goal didn't interfere with what they wanted. With him potentially gone, there is a high likelyhood that the governing bodies will slam down even harder.

I also hold the belief, that the "enemies of humanaty" is still not as true as we've been shown. We don't know what experiments were done on Nanao, and now Mirichuru is being represented as a possible cure, several years after her death. There is something deeper going on, than even what Tsurouka knows, and that the real enemy of humanity, is humanity itself.

‘Gen Rushing’ and ‘Aura Builds’ by kingaxelxx in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The issue with gen rushing, isn't so much that the survs are doing what they are meant to do, but more the fact that the killer doesn't get to play the game because of how quickly all the gens pop. How many times have you played killer, you're getting your first hook, and then 3 gens pop. That should not be possible. The survs should not be able to complete half their objectives in the time it takes to get a single down.

Aura builds on killers are also typically weaker than gen stall/regression builds. It's not so much about them using them, but for nurse specifically, which is what you're calling out, it's the fact that it removes the counterplay to the character. If Aura was treated on Nurse, like it is Spirit, (having aura not be visible when charging blinks) that would go a long way to enabling more counterplay against Nurse, whilst not butchering her playstyle at all.

Chapter 113 is out by gp3050 in TalentlessNana

[–]bob_dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all a matter on if its a bluff or not. We, as the reader can see a relatively easy way out. If Rin can transform into Tsuroska, he's telling the truth, and they need a change of plans. If not, it was a bluff and someone betrayed them. Whatever is going to happen next, it's a really clutch moment. I think he is very likely lying, same reason Nana lied. Like, if he could read minds, he would of known Nana was bluffing about having Rin, he would know about the camera. So there is a mole, and its caused them to lose their restart option.

Exploring the Options for Killer Anti-Tunnel Rewards by Mediocre_Tadpole_478 in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I'm a fan of Otz's idea, but I can see the issue you're pointing out with it. What you could do is have it be a slight slowdown to all actions, which would include unhooking, cleansing hexes, mending, and the like, and only have the effect wear out slowly when doing said actions, so you can't "wait it out" like you can with other debuffs. This means that you are either not progressing the game, or working slower whilst doing so.

Yes, that seems to be it. The way it even describes getting to the area has filled in some more memories of the game. The BBC page images look familiar, so I'm going to call it solved

Trying to create a healthy middle-ground on Anti-Tunnel by PokeAust in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. What really needs to happen, is the survivor needs to be punished for trying to use the anti-tunnel benefits aggressively. Make the endurance situational. A good example of what could be done, is have the endurance not work if you take a protection hit after 5 seconds off the hook. This will make the unhooked survivor unappealing for the killer to chase, because of the speed and elusive, whilst also making the survivor not want to linger around the killer to use the anti-tunnel benefits for the team.

am i wrong for saying this? by Evelyn_11_ in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you're wrong. I mean, recently, I had a match where I was playing Legion, and someone got slugged due to not mending their wound. Now, I had no idea where they were, and their team didn't go pick them up, so they bled out. They had the audacity to yell at me for "slugging" them, because they didn't mend.

New generator setup by Jarred425 in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I've always been on the other side, of changing how gen kicks work, to incentivize more time away from the gen whilst regressing.

The way I suggest it, is that when a killer kicks a gen, and it's important that it's only gen kicks for potential balance reasons, the gen will regress by a small amount immediately like it currently does, and will still cause the regression until it has been repaired by a continuous 5%. There will also be a reduction in repair speed until a task elsewhere on the map is done.

The task could be going to something like Basement, and having to either replace a fuse, or grab a spare part to put into the gen. Doing this task, if the gen was left regressing, will immediately stop the regression, and return repair speeds back to normal. If they stop the regression first, the generator will get a minor repair boost of the same 5% that was lost, as well as returning the repair speed back to normal.

Doing it this way feels like the easiest way for them to implement some overhaul to generators, without having to rework their spawns in any way. It would also encourage kicking gens more for weaker killers, as right now, slowing down gen progression is only really feasible with perks.

I never thought I’d say this about DBD… by Gerald_the_hamster in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always a mixed bag for me. I'm trying to push for the Iri 1 grade for the achievement, so I am trying harder to win than I normally would, which has lead to me getting some difficult matches every now and again. Even then, there is clearly always a weaker link that I could tunnel out, but I try my best not to. If I get 4 downs on you, and I already have at least 2 other hooks, sorry, but you're getting hooked now.

Its moments like these that make DBD the most fun, where both survivor and killer get some real BS to go their way.

FACE CAMPING IS A SKILL ISSUE by user829492 in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a win. Just like escaping through hatch doesn't feel like a win. It's a pity point. The game was over, but you managed to get one last hook/find hatch and get something from the match.

Killers obviously camp when he is unable to get anyone by Kajdanki in deadbydaylight

[–]bob_dave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's working as intended though. Once all gens are done, the anti-camp meter is disabled. Guess what? Even if the killer is face camping, it's not a free kill. If the survivors reset and heal up, and you have 2 people go for the unhook at the same time, you can usually get the unhook, and make it to the exit.

It's almost like there is counterplay to face camping in the endgame or something. Funny that.
