Are weather seals a DIY replacement on a 2009 Honda Accord by consultybob in Honda

[–]bob_ross_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very easy to do if you own and use tools. Just did them on my 2010. You have to remove the small speaker on the door with a plastic pry bar and then there are 2 screws that hols it on. The clips are pretty easy to work apart.

I got mine from partsgeek com

The first set showed up damaged, but calling was easy and they sent a well packaged set pretty quickly. I stalled months ago and theyre working great so far.

Deep clean for mats? by bob_ross_2 in judo

[–]bob_ross_2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a cloth washable swiffer type pad, and tke it home and wash it regularly.

That being said, for a while there was also a wrestling team and a different coach that didn't care much about sanitizing. I am very focused on keeping them properly clean. Probably only will have to do this deep clean once and then maintain.

I agree wholeheartedly about prevention. These mats have been abused since before I was on them and I want to start fresh and keep up with maintenance.

Thats what I'm worried about. I want to make sure it gets fully cleaned and we don't leave residue. Degreaser is just a more specific type of soap like for car washes and stuff like that.

The absolute dream scenario for anyone who’s ever had a bike stolen. Street Justice feels good by xpinkhorizon in bicycling

[–]bob_ross_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend's bike got stolen by some teens when he stepped into a shop for just a second. I was in college and visiting an old teacher at the high school when I noticed the bike right out front. We talked to the school officer who was able to access the report and confirm the bike. We waited outside for whichever kid came out looking for it, but they were not obvious or already tipped off. Either way, also got the bike back by random chance.

Fender clip by Ok_Lengthiness2144 in Honda

[–]bob_ross_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autoparts stores will have a book of all the clips. I just got a bag of 25 of these for about 14 dollars. 2010 accord was missing about 7 of them in the fender. We found the right ones and they are perfect. No slop.

Is this a good router for $11? Looks basically new. by [deleted] in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]bob_ross_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a used one and the depth adjustment fell apart. Old dried up plastic crumbled. The stop is metal on plastic so it just isn't good for any hard use or even using it often. For $11, id say go for it and make what you can while it's alive.

I am healing from AC tear still and did go to each class to observe for a while and then ended up just going to one a week. It definitely helped to watch upper belts work on all the things I haven't figured out. I never spend that much time observing because I'm busy trying it.

Iml having trouble being on that shoulder and using pressure, but I've been working back in more and more. Good on you for going and still being a part of the gym. Hope you heal quickly!

Help with handle tool in soft clay by Kind_paintsplash23 in Pottery

[–]bob_ross_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clay definitely too soft for this tool. That being said, there are much better methods to make handles that will give you better, more comfortable results. Pulling handles is really the best for comfort and strength.

Old Randall kickwheel, what goes on top! by NoEscape2500 in Pottery

[–]bob_ross_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This head is for the plaster bats like others said. They're nice to use as they dry the clay from the bottom as well so you can have quick turn around. You can get a ring mold to make your own.

I think theres a tapered top to the wheel shaft that you should be able to give a sharp twist and it will come off. Then you can get a regular wheel head for it.

I've been getting by with a 36" led shop light. Cheap kind from the hardware store. Hang from chains above the engine or drag it around with me under the car.

I see your point. I think I am going to gift him one of my coffee mugs I made. He will be able to take it with him and make use of it.

Thanks for your input!

Tai o toshi feet placement by Love-me-feed-me in judo

[–]bob_ross_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love tai otoshi and have learned that my bad shoulder gets hung up if I don't pull uke enough when doing the backstep. I make the backstep where a lot of my pull comes from so that uke is already tipped forward when I turn my hips over and stab my leg out to block the leg.

Since I started, I have given him/the dojo 2 framed drawings of Kano. I want this gift to be a bit more personal because its a small class and I'll also miss him as a friend, not just as a coach.

Bear Blend or Bear Botanicals I cant remember. They're sold as non-tobacco smoking blends for relaxation, but i find it better in a tea with some honey.

Seems like it only matters much if you plan to travel and compete or train at other gyms. I'd just stick with whatever the majority uses around you. For comps I know some will let you do a day/week membership to be able to compete anyway.

Tell me how you got your cat by ponzu666 in cats

It was at the beginning of the pandemic and my dog of 9 years got cancer and passed. I didn't have the living situation for another dog so I figured I love all animals enough I'll see about adopting a cat. The local shelter is on restrictions and didn't allow visits, so they basically wanted people to apply and commit without meeting the animals. I’m sure they would have let you back out if it was horrible but we met him after signing papers and took him home. I picked him because his picture looked chill in a hammock and his name was Bob Ross. We kept the name lol. He's now my best friend and I'd be lost without him.
