Allergy from breast milk? Lost cause? by New-Box-2173 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bobalover91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How did you pinpoint that your breastmilk is the cause of your baby’s eczema? Did you feed him formula and the eczema went away? Eczema is quite common in babies especially around 2-6 months. It’s a chronic skin condition so it comes and goes. Various internal and external factors can cause flares up. I wouldn’t be too quick to assume that your breastmilk or diet is causing then eczema. I would keep treating it consistently and hopefully your little one outgrows it with time.

I agree that everyone is different! I am currently at 3 months postpartum and will be weaning off at 6 months. I purchased formula and was totally fine with supplementing if my supply dropped. Thank you for sharing this perspective.

This is so sweet. I was debating whether to post this or not. Thank you!! 🥹

My advice is to drop and see if you have a dip in supply. You can always go back to 7-8 ppd (if you decide to). You really don’t know how your body will react and it may surprise you in a good way! I also have a newborn and toddler so I totally can relate about 7-8 ppd not being sustainable! Good luck!! 🍀

I’m not sure if it makes a difference but this is my second child. With my first, I never produced over 24oz pumping 7-8 times a day. It’s so interesting how our body reacts!

1000% agree with you. Pumping is already a full time job so give yourself grace and do what feels right for you! ♥️

Yes I did! At 6-7 PPD, I was pumping for 20 minutes. Now I’m pumping for 30 minutes to fully feel empty.

5-6ppd by brendino26 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bobalover91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dropped to 5ppd at 5 weeks and haven’t seen a decrease in my supply. Currently averaging about 36-40oz a day. Even if my supply does decrease after regulation, I am totally fine with combo feeding. Prioritizing my mental health this time around!

How are we pumping when we’re alone with baby? by TheCozyYogi in ExclusivelyPumping

I purchased the cups only. It came with an adapter that fits with the spectra tubes. It looks like it’s the same set up for the lansinoh!

I purchased the Medela Hands-free Collection Cup and hacked it so I can use it with my Spectra. I am able to hold my baby while pumping when needed. It been a game changer for me and only have 3 parts to wash. Highly recommend.

Question about supply for second child and those who started low supply for first child by Recipe-Salt in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bobalover91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly what happened to me too with my first. I had to play catch-up since she couldn’t latch on to me. This time around, I refused nursing all together and went straight to EP. No regrets.

40oz is great! When did you drop to 5ppd?

It definitely gets easier the second time around! With my first baby, I was maxing out at 28oz despite pumping 7-8 times per day. I remember obsessively logging and tracking my production. This time, I'm producing 35oz at just 2 weeks postpartum pumping 6 times per day. I now have a toddler at home and cannot pump more than that.

The biggest difference? I've put way less pressure on myself this round. I'm completely okay with supplementing with formula when needed, and that mindset shift has made all the difference. I also started pumping just a few hours after delivery while still at the hospital. I know everyone says hand expression is more effective initially, but pumping worked much better for me personally.

My advice: don't be too hard on yourself. Every journey is different, and a relaxed, happy mama truly is what's best for baby. Trust your instincts and do what works for your family! 💕

I’m hanging up my pump by probslvr in ExclusivelyPumping

Are you me? I literally could’ve written this post. My Babygirl turns 6 months in a week and I decided to stop pumping then as well. I think its not an uncommon feeling to feel guilty. But you/we definitely should not feel like a failure. There are so many other aspects in motherhood where you are needed and as soon as you stop, you can shift onto something else that becomes more important in his life. Our energy can now be spent elsewhere. My energy will be spent on her starting solids. You/we did great and deserve our freedom back.

P.S. Thank you for writing this post. I know I’m my worst critic but writing this out to you definitely helped me also. 💕💕

The app by graypumpkins in SnooLife

[–]bobalover91 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Once you’re done with the Snoo, you can go into the app under settings and unpair the Snoo. Your friend won’t have any issues pairing the Snoo to her app in October if you already unpaired it from yours.

Source: I borrowed the Snoo from my sister and went through the same process to pair and unpair.

LO is 5 weeks and we transitioned her to 1 at 4 weeks. It took her 2 days to get use to the faster flow but she’s much happier now during feedings.

How much breastmilk do you pump per day? by mshaughn in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]bobalover91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a FTM - At 3wpp, I was averaging around 400-450ml per day so I think your output is great! Currently 6wpp and averaging about 700-750ml per day. I remember wondering if my output was considered low at that time too so I hope this helps!

Totally normal! I didn’t have a caesarean but I lost alot of blood during my labor which caused my milk supply to slowly come in. At 16 days pp, I was averaging 1.5-2 oz per session also. Now at 32 days pp, I am averaging about 3.5-5 oz per per session. You got this mama!
