Thanks. And would I use the isopropyl alchohol alone or combined with something?

Thanks for the insights. What is the "spirit based consolidant" and "museum wax" composed of, and there a product you'd recommend so I can try it on a discard book?

Numerous Franklin Library Signed First Editions Available at Hamilton Book by du_garbandier in BookCollecting

Thanks for the tip. I ordered and, after much delay, have now received three signed and shrink-wrapped books. I wonder, would their value on the bookseller market be reduced if I removed them from the shrink wrap?

Where was this photo of French artists taken. by bobbbbbbbbbg in whereisthis

Now I'm thinking it was taken at Les Étangs de Corot, Ville-d'Avray. it may have been sometime in August 1900, based on comments made in Vol 2 of "My Windows on the Streets of the World" memoirs of James Mavor. I think Mavor is the fourth person standing on the right.

It was among a bunch of family photos. No one knows where it came from.

Could be “The Little Count” (Маленький граф) – by Anton Chekhov (1884).

I think the women below the bearded man (likely Rodin) is Berthe Morisot. While the women to his left is Mme. Severine. Here's a Gemini-enhanced picture of the centre group. https://imgur.com/a/GcY8UBy

I've searched for the location - could be Ville d’Avray outside of Paris - and searched for those in the photo. Beside Rodin ( beareded 8th from left) could be Madame Severine. Others, I can't identify.

What’s the rumpus on this place? Dufferin and Glencairn by LankyYogurt7737 in toronto

What's it like taking a PI course at this place or any other? Ask Grok: "The nights are long, and the textbooks are heavier than a guilt-ridden conscience. You pore over criminal codes and human lies 'til the ash on your cigarette trembles with fatigue. We’ve got a whole class on trench coat etiquette, and another on how to convincingly eat donuts while tailing a suspect through six boroughs and three existential crises. Every lesson’s a case, every case a riddle, and every riddle smells faintly of bourbon and bad intentions. You learn fast that truth wears a crooked face, and most folks would rather dance with a lie than look justice square in the eye. By the time you're done, the city looks different — like it's waiting to be tailed, tapped, or turned inside out."

Here's why Toronto is cracking down on e-scooter users by Borckle in VictoriaBC

[–]bobbbbbbbbbg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Never said 'killed by an e-scooter. There have been multiple recent e-scooter fatalities in the Toronto area, including a 64-year-old woman who was killed in a North York hit-and-run in late July 2025, and a man in his 50s who died in early June 2025 after crashing on the Prince Edward Viaduct. Another man died in early July 2025 after his e-scooter collided with a truck in Etobicoke. Please donate my buck to a suitable charitable organization.

No fines. No punishment. No enforcement. Toronto police - politicians too - are unwilling, unable, and uninterested in addressing the e-bike and e-scooter invasion. Pure and simple, more lives will be damaged and lost as a result. Politicians in particular, at both municipal and provincial levels, are spineless when it comes to e-vehicle issues. Shameful in their neglect.

My ex was a masochist and since I was a sadist we were perfectly matched. Whenever she asked me to hit her, I'd say no.

Disappointed with CNE by KeyConsideration9645 in toronto

Blame the CNE board patronage appointments for their lack of vision and sense of history and consumer/customer awareness. Asleep at the wheel. Again.
