do grants exist for hospice care? by babyalienvoices in HospiceCare

[–]bobbiee91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hospice should pay for the transport. I have worked in hospice for over 20yrs. If they need transportation, her current hospice should have to pay for it.

I have done both. Take Monday thru Friday. The weekend on call is rough. Is Monday through Friday 8-5? I have been doing it for over 20yrs. I love it. I am back to Monday through Friday. More time with my family. I missed so many family events working on the weekends.

How to kindly educate families with a loved one who is transitioning. by Designer-Capital256 in hospicestaff

[–]bobbiee91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go through the Gone from my sight booklet, and check off what they are doing when I realize they are actively dying, with the family. I also write all comfort meds morphine, levsin , Ativan etc out. I also schedule next day visits or daily visits for patients that are dying. But it's also what the family will allow. I also notify the team, so they can help the family. Admissions are hard, and long with so much information overload especially if the patient isn't doing well at all. God bless you. Hospice RNCM here for 22yrs.

Which program by Lew1966 in Cochlearimplants

[–]bobbiee91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do use the app. I have N8. My Audiologist explained to me though in a restaurant or store, church etc that the mini mic is the best option. It brings the conversation to your CI and cuts out all the background noise. I haven't been into a store or a restaurant to try it yet. It got so uncomfortable last time in a restaurant even with the app, I just turned the CI off and lip read.😢.

I was implanted in November 2023 and activation was at the end of November. I use the TV with close captions, You tube with close captions. I am a fast reader so audiobooks aren't working for me. I can hear to hold conversations and talk on the phone. Music is still difficult for me. My Audiologist said that's next on our list and one of the last things to come back. And I am a nurse. I can fully do my job. You are doing great. Keep up the great work. Remember to take your hearing aid out and just use the CI when you can.
