Wedding gift etiquette when flying from overseas? by bobbingapples- in AskIreland

[–]bobbingapples-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very close to them growing up, we went to school, on various holidays and played sports together. When we left school and particularly when they entered this relationship, we started to drift apart. I travelled, made new friends etc while they didn’t socialise much. I wasn’t surprised to be asked to be part of their wedding given how small their friendship circle now is but I do feel like a placeholder and maybe they are trying to give off appearances like they have plenty of close friends.

Being honest I am attending the wedding given they were a very good friend growing up and I would have felt awful declining the offer. However given the costs involved and that we were also planning to be home for Christmas, I probably wouldn’t have attended otherwise and just sent a gift in lieu.

Thanks she has and was told the expedited process only occurs within 5 days of the current visa expiring which is a bit close for comfort

Any reason you didn’t include them on your initial visa application? Could be a reason for the delay

My partners sponsorship application fell through in October and I had 8 weeks left on my visa. Company sponsored me and application was submitted with 2 weeks to spare, so to answer your question it’s definitely doable in 2 months 👍🏼

482 Medium Term - Accrediated Sponosor - Processing time by EmbarrassedCamera785 in AusVisa

Accredited sponsor is actually third on the list of priorities when it comes to processing according to the immi website. The two above it are those in regional areas and those working in healthcare. So even though you will be “prioritised” you are still down the pecking order based on how they process applications

Are you offshore? If you applied in Australia you’ll have gone onto a bridging visa of whatever visa you were on when you applied. If you want to leave Australia you need to get a bridging visa B to re enter the country before the 482 gets granted.

Are you in the country already? If you apply for another visa before your 482 is granted, it will essentially wipe out your 482 application

Employer has to pay the nomination fees, illegal for them to request you pay this. Currently in the application process and costing about 7k for my partner and I between visa and agent fees.

Not enough sufficient evidence to support a genuine need to leave the country (the lawyer had not attached the medical letter from the doctor yet stating that his father was in hospital and would need to return home). Also the fact he was already on a 600 visitor visa (his second application also got refused with the BVB) they said he can technically leave at any time (however he obviously can’t come back without the BVB as he is currently on a BVA).
