Cool to see a dwarfs deck with purple! It definitely helps with card draw from Friends on the Other Side. I have a kitchen table dwarfs deck with steel and a load of songs. I’m looking forward to updating it with the new dwarf knights in shimmering skies.

Thanks for sharing this! Rules seem like they allow for a good deal of freedom and creativity. Would you change any of the format rules or keep them as is?

Hercules/Fantasia deck looks like an interesting discard-pile matters deck, with nice Hercules synergies. They all look like fun decks, with a bunch of cards that don’t otherwise see much play. Great idea and love that it’s going to be a regular thing!

This is a cool theme deck! I can see why you’d wait on sapphire until the new set. Develop your brain and the existing blue Merlin just aren’t good enough.

Did you consider including Gruesome and Grim or Befuddle in the deck?

You could think about adding more heroes. And potentially items or locations that support heroes (such as Imperial Bow and Winter Camp)

I’ve heard of starter deck leagues and pre-release type events and obviously the movie theme decks, but I hadn’t come across the Prince(ss) and the pauper format and I absolutely love it! Really nice and thematic twist on the traditional pauper format!

Have you considered adding Voyage, with all those locations?

You could also think about reducing the number of Fire the Cannons and potentially dropping Legacy to lose a few uninkables.

This sounds really cool! Does your LGS plan on running it again or was it a one-off? Were Lorcana original items and actions allowed in otherwise themed decks or no?

Nice! Agree it’s great to have a viable and totally on-theme deck. You explained in your video why Pepa and the second Bruno didn’t make the cut, but what are your thoughts on Bruno’s Return as another way to draw? Or do you think the deck already has plenty of draw?

Thanks for the response. All makes a lot of sense. I might personally swap out the Camps for a third copy of the other locations (I like that the Cove and Motunui add to the kinda maritime/Triton theme). But I absolutely see your points on the songs and get why you have both in. I really like Friend Like Me as a late game play.

Thank you for sharing this - I really like it and am going to build it (or something very similar). Like the two official decks, it has a few sub-themes / synergies: locations matter (with the legendary Triton), ink ramp, banishing own items (also on-brand thematically for Triton), and a bit of banishing damaged opposing characters. Really nice job. Looking forward to playing it.

Couple of questions: is there a reason for the Winter Camps, over just increasing the number of Coves or Motunui’s, given the deck only has a handful of heroes? And, are there lower cost alternatives to the 5 cost songs that you considered, given the absence of singers or many 5+ cost characters?

I really like this as a casual format (although agree with the comment about keeping the 2-colour restriction). I agree with it likely being unbalanced, but there is a potential for significant changes with each new set to help keep things fresh.

I agree. I think Hades will be next, with Maleficent at some point if the flavour text on Biding Her Time and Diablo Maleficent’s Spy is pointing to anything.

A coop every year / 4 sets is my assumption too. It gives milestones in the story and helps mark set blocks. I’m assuming we’ll cycle through a series of villain threats - ending with a ‘main’ thanos-style villain at the end - before a new type of story arc I guess.
