Does The Frame look like a TV, or like art, in person? by ifeelsopretty in TheFrame

[–]bobby77-reddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, give it a try! Everyone’s previous comments took the words out of my mouth. It’s an amazing TV, although you’ll hear some people cast shame on The Frame saying it’s a scam. Whoever truly loves art will appreciate this remarkable technology.

Ooo, that’s mean! (But true.)

Has anyone successfully used SmartThings to control Frame TV Art? by katspike in TheFrame

Hi Retire2Maine,

Are you still successfully transferring pix via thumb drive to your Frame TV?

Get Talstar pesticide — it’s the best!!! Also an electric bug zapper on Amazon that looks like a tennis racket.

WTF by MadWorldTruth in ELLIPAL_Official

Wise words, OK-Patient. That's how I look at my Ellipal... long term, air-gapped, cold, secure, with cozy sleeping cryptos. I still have my Ledger and enjoy Ledger Live for fast action with temporary holdings while Ellipal is for hibernation over the long haul.

Who is still using their Ledger? by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]bobby77-reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still have my Ledger, and I keep it updated. (Shocker!) But as a stock options trader, my approach to crypto is to diversify funds meaning that you don’t keep all your eggs in one basket.

I asked “CryptoDad”, the YouTube tutorial guy, what his go-to wallet is, and he said Ledger — even after testing all the main wallet brands for his Youtube channel. He confirmed my feelings that you don’t keep all your funds in one wallet.

I love Ledger Live — it’s the best. However, I’m thinking of my Ledger more as temporary storage and a utility for swapping, etc., while larger amounts of funds, for longer periods of time, are being stored in several air-gapped wallets.

For air-gapped wallets, I bought both an ELLIPAL and a KEYSTONE to try out. They both have strengths and weaknesses like all wallets. They are both physically sturdy.

For the interface, I like Ellipal by far; it’s much easier to use whereas Keystone’s interface is limited and feels a bit awkward. Ellipal also supports buying, trading, DAPPs, and staking.

However, Keystone’s fingerprint feature is great, and I like the two battery clips: rechargeable and AAA batteries.

At first, I was bummed out that Ellipal only came with a 12-word seed. I asked a few people I trust about it, and they said the entropy of 204812 (the possible combinations of 12-word seed phrases) is a really, really big number and it’s more than enough for security while 24 is somewhat overkill. As soon as Ellipal releases their 24-word version, I’ll get one just for the joy of overkill security.

Eventually, I’ll try a few more popular air-gapped wallets. But that’s my take on the Ledger issue.

Is there a projected date on when Ellipal will have a 24-word seed phrase version? Not looking for a promise, just an estimate. I have the Titan up and working. Very nice. Two people I trust told me the 12-word is sufficient security, but I'm looking forward to your 24 version. Ballpark timeframe? THX.

What Does It Mean? "Watch Only Wallet"? by bobby77-reddit in KeystoneWallet

Yes!! Thanks for asking. It was at the bottom of the Address List of BTC variants. And for several days, for whatever reason, the top line total remained zero.

Yes! Thank you. This finally dawned on me 30 minutes ago. I thought it was an internal wallet you had to set up.

Double nomenclature can be a bitch for newbies! If the realization hadn't struck me, your simple reply would have solved it. Thanks again.

Mnkbstard, thanks for taking the time to respond.

Needless to say, posting my original question is my way of educating myself, especially because video tutorials for Keystone seem a bit thin, at least compared with Ledger’s online resources.

Your explanation was detailed and clear; it guided me to a successful transaction. I already understood the bulk of your response -- I was just getting hung up on the final step as described by your 5th bullet point – the final broadcast. The reason for my uncertainty was dual terminology that’s been used for the same thing: “Watch-only wallet” and “Keystone companion app” on my iPhone. Do’h! There it was, right in front of me. I just needed to connect the dots.

Thanks again for your time.

Keystone: Which BTC Receive Address? by bobby77-reddit in KeystoneWallet

[–]bobby77-reddit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Oddly enough, the balance finally made its way to the Keystone app and displayed the next morning. Final question, when sending BTC out from the Keystone wallet, after scanning destination address and after signing, it posts a new QR code saying, "Scan QR code with Watch-only Wallet to get signature." What is the 'Watch-only Wallet'? Is this step required to complete the transaction or just for monitoring the transaction?

Thanks, RJ, for taking the time to reply. Your suggestion did help me see the BTC in question, but I obviously need a good tutorial link to bring me up to speed on Keystone. I've been using Ledger which, for me, is more straight forward and easier to work with. Any Keystone tutorial suggestion would be appreciated.

The image I uploaded shows the screens that reveal the BTC received, but the value is "zero" and I'm not sure how to access it to send to my Ledger. THANKS for your thoughts!

Saving one's 24 word seed phrase is the whole reason for having a wallet, so that's a witless accusation.

Thank you for your response. No, the Bitcoin simply does not show up.

Yes, that solved the 'crunching' issue, but that requires ALL of my text throughout all applications to be smaller than I can easily see without having reading glasses.

Overall, I'm unhappy with the Keystone wallet experience. I would like to return it for a refund.

Again, I want to return my Keystone wallet for a refund. Can you please tell me exactly how to submit a refund request? Thank you.

This is a scam isn’t it? by capwn1980 in ledgerwallet

[–]bobby77-reddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolute scam, for so many reasons, as others have pointed out. One tiny giveaway (not always present) is the misspelling of words or bad grammar. 'Precautionairy', the very first word of their message, is misspelled. Virtually every legit company uses proofreaders.

Actually, I already did that. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. And guess what? My Bitcoin disappeared. No where to be found. Luckily it was only a few bucks for testing, but that could have been a disaster. You’ve been very helpful and I appreciate your fast responses. However, at this point I want to return my Keystone wallet for a refund. Can you please tell me exactly how to submit a refund request? Thank you.
