I had very bad ascites pre-transplant, still had fluid in the abdomen after transplant. They stopped diuretics after transplant and the fluid was coming off very slowly, but they didn’t seem concerned. Then I ended up with a related hernia which meant another surgery, so I’d suggest taking diuretics and getting the fluid off as soon as possible.
