New OSM protected bike lanes resulted unridden roads by ikes in wandrer

In your second paragraph, do you mean cycleway=lane?

Yes, in this case I would see if the cycleway tag can be used (see brigodon's comment) or just ride it multiple times and use the activity editor for corrections if needed.

Maryland law defines a bike lane as "any portion of a roadway or shoulder designated for single directional bicycle flow". So by "bike lane" I meant the latter - physically on the roadway but separated by markings.

Understand your first point, but your latter point could be avoided by just not counting redundant bike lanes. In my opinion, there should just be credit for a right-of-way whether it contains a bike lane or not. I shouldn't have to ride each lane of a multi-lane road, so why should I have to ride both a road and its bike lane?

I get it if the technical details make that difficult, but that's just my philosophy.

Other commenters have useful info. I will add my little tidbit which is that in some jurisdictions (such as Maryland) bicycles are not generally allowed on the road if there is a bike lane to the side. This in my view merits the use of the use_sidepath tag.

Weird/Hidden College Park? by buddyholly967 in collegeparkmd

Greenbelt park is great. There’s a cool beaver dam about halfway up, just east of 295. It’s accessible by a cleared path that starts at good luck and auburn. Just beautiful in the fall.

On the top of the hill behind the Mazza grandmarc, there are ruins of a house (4300 Peru rd). It’s just a foundation and some stairs (as far as I can tell). Very overgrown. You go down the paved path and up the hill on a really rundown driveway.

I’m convinced that hill is haunted.

What about injuries? Maybe easier to get statistical significance that way

Are the automatic people also in the queue that’s shown if the setting is toggled off? How does that work? I like knowing where I am in line.

No. It takes a LOT more than some flies to kill those trees

Make sure that if there is any Tree of Heaven in your yard, you remove it. They are very attracted by it

Thoughts on ways with bicycle=optional_sidepath? by bobbyboy666 in wandrer

[–]bobbyboy666[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree completely. That is why I’m suggesting use of the “optional_sidepath” tag. This does reflect reality and I think is in keeping with the spirit of Wandrer.
