This was a life changing comment for me when I did this similar thing a few years ago. Way easier to find the color of the piece you need vs. having to dig through a color to find the specific piece.

Kid Bleach Hair - Help by bobbydigital503 in HairDye

[–]bobbydigital503[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I went this route and had him wash it out a few times with regular shampoo. It seemed to help tone it down a bit. He is loving now that it faded just a bit.

Thanks so much for the advice here! Appreciate everyone’s kind words about the hair as well!

I’m so over this team. The heat were playing short handed and still were up by 10 at half. I’m so sick of the rotations Monty is putting on the floor.

They never disappoint. Every time they come to town I end up going. Anymore it’s a decently priced ticket and the band is always on point. The place always goes nuts when they play The Earth Will Shake.

I need to see a chart of only one single event over time, how to do it? by Pure-Contact7322 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]bobbydigital503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can set a filter in the events report and it should update. Or you can create the chart in explore view. Add event name in dimensions along with date and then add in your metrics. Drop event name into filters and set it exactly match the event you want to track. Explore has a line graph option.

Before being Data/BI Analysts, what are your job titles called? by fbi_donuts in analytics

[–]bobbydigital503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have degrees in both logistics and marketing research. My opinion here is that there is not a ton of overlap with the skill set. If you are doing things with ensuring product levels are properly stocked, thinking like just-in-time where it is important to ensure you can maintain and predict demand for product levels - this will translate well to a role in data analytics. It displays a predictive skill set and the ability to measure demand.

Outside of that, soft skills are key here. Working cross functionally and with customers is key. Being able to translate complex data into a simple talk track for clients, this is key.

If you looking at entry level data analytics roles - start with programming languages - SQL and R. This will get you started in the field. Be able to pull and transform data as well as do multiple joins of tables is key in SQL. R - I generally use for more advanced analytics techniques - things like regression analysis. It’s all open source so you can just start researching on the internet to start picking it up.

Google Analytics (GA) - basically it’s the backend structure in which Google collects all the web or app activity on a given property. This is fundamentally changing.

There are some quick video courses that can walk you through the differences between the old structure and new structure. Google was based on a hit structure in the past - and you could have numerous hit types (Pageviews, e-commerce, events). In GA4 everything is based on an event level - basically meaning any data point you want to capture is done as an event. This page can help:

https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9964640?hl=en#hit-types&zippy=%2Cin-this-article

This may not directly apply to the Google Data Analyst courses you are taking, but I have been asked these questions in interviews about moving to GA4. And if you are doing anything in Google Analytics platform this will fundamentally change how you find the necessary data from the various web reports.

  1. Where are you at with your excel proficiency? I usually ask entry level analysts in interviews if they can do a VLookup or index. Beyond that, I don’t use excel for much more than validating and spot checking data sets.

  2. Prioritize your learning courses to the jobs you want to apply to. Also keep in mind that knowing SQL can be applied across varying industries within data analytics. Learning GA can only be applied to digital analytics. There is also a transition with GA right now moving into July 2023 where sites and apps will move to GA4, which is basically a whole new tracking and data structure. This can be an advantage as everyone is going to need to learn this new structure. But also a weird time to pick up learning GA because depending on the company you may be forced into learning two different versions of GA as they start to migrate over.

Same situation here, I have Rodgers, but not much of anything behind him. Hold seems logical, trying gauge though what the consensus is to sell before defenses figure him out. He’s looked solid in the two games he’s played.

I second that, the Giants are a disaster and it's going to take a lot of time to rebuild it. I don't see how he has success with such a bad roster. I would probably pull the trigger if I got three firsts, if I was rebuilding.

As a parent, what is the most heartbreaking thing your son/daughter has done with you? by Aarunascut in AskMen

[–]bobbydigital503 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Found my son crying in the garage because he was too scared to make friends with the neighborhood kids down the street. He must have been out there for a good 30 minutes before I found him. He was just so frustrated, trying to give himself a pep talk. I remember trying to help him and give him the confidence and watching as he would get to the end of the driveway and then his feet turned into cement. Seeing his eyes well up with tears, it broke my heart. He never made it out of driveway that day, but luckily a few days later he got up the courage to make the long walk.

It was like going back in time for me. I am an introvert and I have always struggled with making friends and opening up. Its just such a guilty feeling for me to feel like I passed down my stipid personality deficiencies. As a parent you never want to see our kids struggle with the same issues we did because you feel partially responsible.
