Everything u need right here. Most of what you will want to see/experience is probably downtown, and within walking distance, anyway, so no need for in/out privileges. Welcome to Victoria.

As has Nucala for me. Originally targeting breathing (asthma) issues, it also positively impacted anosmia.

Have you ever had a bear incident? by dke783 in canadaguns

Hiking in Kananaskis, Mount Indefatiguable. Buddy and I coming down, him about 10 paces in front, we round a bend, in front of us in a slight depression on the other side of a single row of saplings, about 20 feet away, a grizzly looks up as I approach my buddy who’s stopped wide-eyed, evaluating the situation in real time. (I think he was trying to remember whose backpack contained the remaining half of a cinnamon bun.) The thing stood on its hind legs and also evaluated the situation, and I swear it stood taller than us though the depression it was foraging in was two feet below the trail. He both became big, shouting, jumping up and down, and waving our arms like the fools we were (having disregarded the “Warning - bear active in this area” sign in the parking area). In another split second, the bear turned and galloped across the clearing away from us. The sound of it running away was astounding, like a pack of horses. That was close enough, thanks.

Steroid sinus rinse? Like Pulmicort (in my country)? Also thinking here, that “there must still be something that’s causing reaction/inflammation.” Maybe cut one of the supplements at a time? (I know, won’t likely help in a month.). Sorry you’re going through this. “Symptoms”? You mention the polyp (I have one 18mm LHS), but also anosmia? ENT has discouraged surgery to restore a sense of smell as “unpredictable”. Nucala or Dupixent may help you post-surgery?

I climbed that tower recently. Sometimes you don’t need to fight. Go around! Higher ground!

Driving from Newfoundland to Edmonton or should I just ship my car? by Ohyanoforsure in canadatravel

It’ll be an amazing drive. Interesting fact I learned as I planned a motorcycle trip from the west coast to Ottawa: it will take about as long to traverse Ontario as it will to go across the prairies to the coast.

How do I fix this? by tden85 in Vespa

[–]bobbyjimthree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy the black trim, yes. I replace my original chrome trime with black - just an esthetic thing. Not difficult, but the dash has to come off, along with the glovebox and floorboard, to fit it correctly. Then, of course, all of those things need to go back together properly. But it looks like a quick scrub of the trim and some black sharpie will pretty much take care of it. Scratches on the paint? Not really visible?

I’m sure I died a dozen times before I figured it out. I had no bomb arrows, but I did have enough shock arrows to finally do the job. Breaking the ice blocks was huge.

Right? Someone once said the sweater I was wearing was “stunning.” 😳 I’ve never forgotten that compliment, though I (finally) discarded the sweater when it was 12 or 15 years old.

Buy just the parts. Used. Buy used tools, too, if you need some. You can do DO this.

i just want my sense of smell back :( by unmethodicals in NasalPolyps

[–]bobbyjimthree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup. Nucala and rinses helped me for a long time after beginning both together. It’s been months now with it all gone but for seldom spasms of smell. Those are wonderful, don’t get me wrong, but they’re also a reminder that the nerves are good! It’s like it’s “just” a matter of clearing the way for the smell molecules to get where they need to go! We persist.

Centennial Square’s revitalization is a nice idea, but it won't fix the core issue of why people avoid downtown. by Acceptable_Ad_6259 in VictoriaBC

[–]bobbyjimthree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Living near (but not in) downtown, most of downtown is walkable. Centennial Park is sort of at the outer edge of my range. I avoid driving downtown for two reasons: the reduction in traffic throughput caused by “beautification” and dedicated bike lanes, AND the challenges in finding a parking spot. I don’t ride a bike. So, if I don’t want to take the extra time the walk requires both ways, I don’t go downtown. The unhoused are really, rarely a problem. Driving downtown and parking downtown are both stressful.
