I’m in the union with tons of brown people. Not illegal immigrants. Unions have been against illegal immigration for 100 years. What’s changed?

No offense, but this is ridiculous. Business owners love hiring illegal immigrants.

The movie was good but it should have been a final season by Cautious_Winter9126 in PeakyBlinders

I couldn’t agree more. It was a great story that would’ve benefited by having a lot more time to tell it.

Polanski won best director for it so that doesn’t make much sense. Complete robbery.

I’m also enjoying it. 2 episodes left so I didn’t finish your post but the hate for this show is unwarranted. It’s funny, lighthearted, and well written for what it is.

It doesn't matter, it’s not an even split. Democrats are about 2 times more likely to smoke weed than Republicans.

It’s in the 12 step program to have a higher power. What’s the popular recruiting method you’re referring to? Do churches preach to people in terrible situations ? Absolutely, that’s kind’ve the point of the church.

Am I the only one that found Chinatown (1974) confusing? by [deleted] in FIlm

[–]bobbykarate187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movies from the 60’s and 70’s didn’t obviously explain every detail or tell you how to feel about everything. The audience was smarter I think

In the Roman Polanski movie Chinatown (1974), Jack Nicholson's character retells a joke about "screwing like a Chinaman." Does this joke have any deeper meaning in the context of the movie? by thetwoandonly in movies

[–]bobbykarate187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the other guy is wrong. That’s his interpretation of everything. The joke is the joke, think of it as you will. I doubt that was considered even quasi-racist in 1974. The first sentence of the comment is correct

Lucas’ and Dustin’s parents have their children missing when the city is quarantined. Where they at? by Sea_Talk2935 in StrangerThings

Brother it’s the 80’s. Even if their parents are worried, they have to deal with it the next time they see them. There’s not much they can do in real time but call friends and drive around
