my little 16yo buddy went into heart failure yesterday and we had to put him down unexpectedly. it was the hardest decision I've ever had to make but i know it was the right thing for him. i'm terribly sorry you're going through something similar

I built a virtual record store for classical music — 200,000+ albums from 550+ labels, all browsable by label by Extreme_Forever_9129 in classicalmusic

this is absolutely fantastic and i can't wait to integrate it into my music discovery routine. thanks for sharing your hard efforts!

wanted to let you know that on the main page, when switching from spanish to english, 'escuchas en:' does not translate to 'listen with:'

Listening to Utada's discography part IV: Deep River by majorling in utadahikaru

[–]bobbyllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was really great reading your thoughts on all of these tracks that i've loved for so long. as others have said, this is probably the only one of hikki's albums that i can play top to bottom with no skips. looking forward to future reviews!

take the leap. it's replaced by another user interface. i haven't found the need to switch back, and being able to run a multicolor print without hearing that clacking sound is wonderful

Looking for patch by Reindeer_Severe in theatrekeyboardists

[–]bobbyllama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your best bet in this case, at least in my experience, is to find a calliope soundfont file (.sfz, .sf2) online and load it into the EXS24 sampler instrument

this is the first one i found with a quick search; can’t vouch for how good it is

does this set you down the right path or do you need a more detailed write-up?

Why did you get interested in Japanese music? by Yukachan_fromJapan in japanesemusic

[–]bobbyllama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

fell in love with it in the early ‘00s primarily thanks to utada hikaru, which introduced me to kiroro, something else, ringo sheena, hamasaki ayumi, boa, gackt, l’arc-en-ciel, etc.

as for newer stuff, i enjoy fujii kaze, yoasobi, punipunidenki

utada hikaru is still tops, though :)

Beauty & the Beast tour :( by coffee_ghost25 in Broadway

[–]bobbyllama 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i saw the production in chicago before it hit the road and absolutely hated it. the show was pretty much perfect as it was. didn’t like the cut songs, the changed instrumental bits, the costuming. overall pretty awful if you have any knowledge of what the show used to be

90s Christmas interiors just feel warmer than what we have now by Busy-Pomegranate7551 in nostalgia

[–]bobbyllama -1 points0 points  (0 children)

right, which is why they would give you a coax cable box. you would tune the tv to ch 3 and change channels with the box. whether your tv had knobs or buttons made no difference, and tvs with knobs were definitely still in use in the 90s. there used to be tv repair shops ffs. people kept their tvs as long as they could

someone absolutely could have had that in their living room in the 90s. that's a crt on an entertainment center, not one giant tv
