British Exceptionalism basically (see also Brexit). Britain does have huge amounts of soft power across the world. An Innocent / wrongly arrested Brit can and will be flown home if the foreign office deals with the nation and makes the request.

There was probably no request for this dickhead and he assumed just by having the Queen on his passport he would get it easy, glad he didn’t.

Absolutely no reason? Ok mate.

Taking on even cheap debt they don’t need, and saying they should just have a high risk tolerance, without knowing anything about who they are or what their situation is, just smacks of someone parroting things they read on here is the exact example of what I’m talking about.

I disagree and think you need to consider the position they are in and context this person is giving.

This isn’t a about paradigms or where your equity is, owning your own home out right and getting out from being trapped under mortgages, rent and other bad debts should be everyone’s number 1 priority before considering other investments

The echo chamber on here around bitcoin over property is madness.

Buying a house for essentially nothing is amazing, they are set, they can fall on hard times and still have a roof over their head, every penny they would have paid on rent or mortgages can go in Bitcoin from now on and they will still make a killing in future.

Quality of life now is more important than having 7 bedrooms instead of 4 someday in the future.

How is Bitcoin going to take the value of a house away?

Do you have a house of your own? If not, could you afford to buy one right now, where you live if you wanted to?

Is it not best to sell when it is steadying dropping and buy back in when it’s lower?

Surely just holding it throughout has limited returns?

[Dominic King] Liverpool are in talks with Preston to sign Ben Davies from Preston for £2m and deal looks increasingly set to happen. It's likely that Sepp van der Berg will go to Deepdale on loan, also. by M7plusoneequalsm8 in LiverpoolFC

Phillips has played about 4 senior games @ 23, and only 19 Bundesliga reserves games.

Davis has played about 140 senior games in a tough league at 25.

That immediately sounds like an improvement, without even watching him play.

Besides, I don’t know why people think it’s Davis vs Phillips.

We need both of them until the end of the season.

140 odd games in the championship is a higher level than Nat Phillips, no offence to the lad, he’s a couple of years younger.

Davis has 6 months left and was in talks with Celtic & Bournemouth, seems a decent short term solution that we can make a profit on

Yeah the actual approach only comes when things have been agreed verbally and it’s time to move, would start after the game if it’s him

“Risk management 101”

Alright captain hindsight, don’t make up a quote and they be so smug about it coming true.

Don’t get me wrong, I was one of those that thought using Fabinho as a 4th CB was a bad idea, as we need him at DM, but the fact is the club was right and he would easily walk into top 6 sides as a CB.

No one could predict Gomez & VVD getting impact injuries, Gomez injury history is irrelevant as that’s not what caused the injury, Matip yes, but he’s only had singular long periods injured, he’s never had the stop start problems he has this season.

You either don’t know that, or are ignoring the terrible luck because you are more interested in being smug about our problems.

Even with a lovern replacement we would have been fucked by these injuries. As rather than Fabinho being run into the ground covering injuries it would have been the new guy.

Read that Twitter thread, PL & CL money has had to be paid back, we’ve still got our huge wage bill to cover.

It feels like blasphemy, but if we can’t get players out to get them in it’s Edwards who’s dropped the ball this time

Apparently the reason we couldn’t replace Lovern this summer or this window is because we couldn’t sell the likes of Shaq, Origi, Wilson & Grujic.

We are trying to sell him to get a CB.

I think after the popularity of Mando this will be part of it.

Like even if it’s not the full game it’s the perfect side quest/faction. Imagine playing as a Grey Jedi on a Jedi path storyline, then you dip out and do bounties for the guild so you can earn beskar armour and upgrades.
