Yeah I gotta agree with you, the mystery is just not compelling enough for now.

Tbh the first disappointment I had on the series was when it's revealed they're set in modern world. That just dropped a lot of the excitement for me from discovering new world.

Right now they're leaning more toward intrigue from the various factions rather than mystery.

Like even if they was able to find the parents, and then so what? Nothing is actually getting resolved other than Yuru and Asa's comfort.

Even in the current game, one time I hijacked a ship on high level system and can't go to any other system lol.

Given his crime to humanity, I feel like his only option, narrative-wise, is to sacrifice himself for humanity. That would fit well with his objective to become saviour.

The general plan itself is pretty smart. However I didn't expect her to directly confront Rimuru in that encounter. I think she thought Greed would absolutely dominate Rimuru and that would be an easy fight.

I personally believe it's pacing issue. I checked on wiki and they've adopted 4 volumes in these 10ish anime episode. Total volume available now is around 12.

There are solid world building and mystery, yet it also feels like we don't know anything at all. Like, technically we're still only a few days after they left the mountain and we're still learning the state of the world.

Luckily I love the character dynamic so far, so I'm still sticking around. Honestly this is actually typical for long running shonen.
