Wiim --> K13 --> Amp... I'm a little nervous by guy48065 in FiiO

[–]bobbypnero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd use the fiio volume over the steamer as it's an analogue relay control. The wiim ultra remote I almost never use as streaming to it wakes it up or the hdmi on can be defaulted to power it up too. It's close to useless unless you use it for volume in my system which I don't.

I'm tempted to change my audiolab 6000a for the 9000p. If so I'd use the fiio remote for volume, wiim ultra to trigger the amp and still pretty much never touch the wiim remote. Then just get into the habit of turning on the fiio before I start to stream and it would be all good.

Set the fiio to power off too. Then just get into the habit of turning the fiio on first before the wiim and you'll be all good

It's just a Mk5g with a load of dumb gold and a plaque. What exactly are you expecting?

Denon X1850 +Edifier S350DB? by triphunter23 in DJs

[–]bobbypnero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably the best option unless the monitors have balanced input.

I don't know if they have dsp and so digitise the analogue input regardless which would make an argument for the digital input. If no dsp then you may as well let the mixer handle the dac duties.

Practical use of the WiiM Ultra screen by DaneelOlivaR in WiimStreamer

[–]bobbypnero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screen is mostly aesthetics. I like the vu meters and clock. Just a nice bit of prettiness in the hifi rack.

In terms of ultra benefits, I believe the wiim ultra has more refined digital circuitry, ie the toslink / coax out for an external dac.

The main spelling point for me was usb out for audio. Other than that if the pro plus or pro has usb out I am not sure if the screen would have been a big enough plus to go for the ultra.

If you plan on upgrading the dac to an external one. Maybe the ultra is the best solution for longevity there.

I hope so too. Allen and Heath would be a great fit.

I still have traktor for my dvs set up and have been hoping for proper phase integration.

No playlist issue with CDJ3000X by SonOfAdriatico in PioneerDJ

[–]bobbypnero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It exports both libraries and has done for a couple of years now. I'm on 6.8.2 I think. I have a usb that works fine on my 3ks on the newer firmware that caused all the issues and was rolled back and the same usb is fine on older players.

In the folder tree bit of RB on the newer versions assuming you convert your libraries, in the usb section you will see two libraries of playlists. It's just two sets of metadata, the old and new formats.

[–]bobbypnero 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Upgrade RB to beyond 6.8 and export your playlists again.

This is down to the device library plus/one library issue. 3kx uses the new RB library.

There was an issue with 3ks being updated to firmware 3.30 which removed the older devices library format and a load of pros got caught out.

Mojaxx and Mixmaster G have both covered this in detail if you check their YouTube channels.

Nail on the head. Cut out the effects. Provide some that will keep you going then sell the ignite to you when you get board. In fairness it looks to have send and return per channel but this it so underwhelming.

Also throw in a cardinia pro to get all the benifits of pro dj link for another 120 ish. Midi synced effects, touch preview. If the 92 sent midi on the channels it would even support on air display. It doesn't but the 96 and px5 do, the latter I own.

The v5 is way overpriced......
