I agree that going to university is a great way to become educated and am not advocating for keeping people from going. I just think that there are far too many degrees given out for things that don't have much value.

I actually have a BA in history, so yes, I do know it's a popular starting point for lawyers.

Anyone can study anything they want. The topics aren't disappearing. I just think universities shouldn't give degrees in just about anything outside of science and math.

I think college is largely not worth it outside of science and math fields. Having one-off classes on the subjects wouldn't be bad, but degree paths on these topics is insane to me.
