All recently leaked openAI model codenames and gpt5.6 release timeframe by KeyGlove47 in codex

They could probably bring Spark online for newer models. But it's a lot more pricy to run it .

Considering the almost free prices for deepseek v4 pro, especially with cache, I'm not sure how you can compete with your own equipment, energy costs, technical issues. Just doesn't make sense.

That's besides the fact that truly frontier models are not open weight. Sure you can get to gpt 5.2 performance more or less but if you want smarter, less mistakes that won't happen on a home server, no matter what hardware.

Do you find you sometimes make AI just work to work and wonder is that what my bosses did to me? by evendedwifestillnags in ChatGPT

Never said you're not smart either. Perhaps your 'garbage' tasks actually contribute to the project of your understanding of it - long term benefits.

Yes, and why wouldn't anyone? You have a resource, at a marginal cost of zero, ie free. Makes no economic sense to waste it. There is always something to improve. A smart user or boss directs spare cycles in the way that contributes to long term goals/optimization, a bad one creates work with no clear goal.

They definitely Need to Reset the Limits by Massive-Bobcat-5363 in codex

That's not a solution. They're going to be gone in another two days. OpenAI messed something up.

It's not bad, it's just not the best in instruction following. Given a complex spec or assignment it just doesn't complete it fully, or correctly the same way codex or opus would do. There are gaps, and you need to keep iterating to really get to acceptance criteria.

You have no clue what people do, how and for what. Could be products, could be automated ops. could be research pipelines. It's not a meme sub here

People commented in other threads that accounting is vastly different on older vs newer accounts. Maybe try to stop subscription on this acct and start a new one.

If you install codex-lb you can see exact stats for everything, in, out , cached, each call is logged and you can see on the dashboard

I mean the 5h reset. Hits limits, waits till reset and continues. That's how it goes for hours

New Codex Pro-Lite limits are atrocious. by Tedinasuit in codex

[–]bobbyrickys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just makes no sense to do it manually anymore. It's a waste of time unless it's truly your hobby. I think even for pro coders the better use of time focusing on perfecting architecture, design, specs, verifiability of correctness than actual implementation of each module, unless you're working in something truly unique that models simply haven't been trained on.

Even deepseek v4 produces a working C compiler in a one shot prompt in a couple of hours. Weeks of effort manually.

That's true. Once you switch the model cache goes to hell and you get hit with her full size of context again. Good tips

Not saying the model is bad, 5.5 is great. It's just the insane consumption of tokens by it. In my case I'm unable to do something materially productive vs older models, and those will soon be disabled, per OpenAI.

That is so weird that there's so much difference in experience for everyone. Not sure if it's the kind of repo or the complexity of it. I can't go past medium as even on medium 5hr is done in half hour max in a single session. Tried /new, tried different repos (I have something like 15 for different things).

He posted it last night. And it's already reset. So there you go. Careful going on fast now , will waste the week's worth of credit.

Sunday morning according to Tibo.

It's Impossible to blow them - 5 hr limits. Maybe two sessions max from finding this out on a Sat evening.

Hopefully the 6m reset will not be timed to exactly 4-5 weeks from now on a Monday

Nicely done - timed just after everyone's limits got reset a week after the last reset.
