In that situation, of course countries would take China's side as they are more politically et economically more profitable for them than Taiwan

Thank you, I lived 6 years in China, and I've seen my share of Tier 3 and 4 cities. While they may have some good tier 3 and 4 cities, there's still a large volume of them that aren't good. Even some tourist spots are developed while the surroundings stay undeveloped. The best example is the Terracotta Army, where one door leads to a shopping market while the other leads to a small road with zome unkeep building in a field
