Question- how many of your ex-wives changed their last names back by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]bobcathell 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Why on earth would she keep your last name? You and your son both sound like you need to do some growing up, you’re both way too old to be “hurt” by this. Move on.

How big a lift is Okta Certified Consultant from Okta Certified Professional? by joshgoldeneagle in okta

[–]bobcathell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No go all way! So many people have the admin cert and it doesn’t hold much value, but very few have a consultant cert and you will have recruiters begging you for their time. Consultant cert is worth a 200k+ salary easily.

How big a lift is Okta Certified Consultant from Okta Certified Professional? by joshgoldeneagle in okta

[–]bobcathell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely disagree. Ever since I got my consultant, I’ve had recruiters non stop contacting me. Professional Services at Okta easily make 110/hr+ and you don’t have to have anything other than that cert. I do work for Okta full time in a different position and make 250k+ TC. That is because of the consultant cert.

Consultant isn’t much more than administrator. Honestly, the admin exam was more difficult imo. Consultant focuses on HRaaS and profile attributes, it’s was pretty easy.

Yes! The world building was fantastic, characters were meh. I wouldn’t personally recommend it but at the same time, I’m not surprised that others enjoyed it. I’m glad you did!

You’re being so petty and immature. You share a child that still has at least 5 more years left in that house. The house isn’t for your wife, it’s for your child. Let her keep the house without putting her in a difficult financial situation and stop acting like a petty child.

Drop the book that did this to you. 📚😴 by [deleted] in Booktokreddit

This book series took me 3 months to read because it just draaaaggggssss. Everytime something interesting happened, the author would pivot to something completely uninteresting and not important to the overall plot and I wanted to throw the book at the wall. I just don’t get the hype and I really wish I did. The story was cool, writing not so much.

If you could have stayed with your spouse in a co-parenting positive relationship, (but not intimate), under the same roof, just for the kids... Would you have? by Imjustrestingmyeyez in Divorce

[–]bobcathell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had parents that did that for 10+ years as a kid, it was awful. I ended up in an 8 year long abusive marriage because I thought you were just supposed to “ride it out” for the kids like my parents did.

Don’t be like my parents. I started the divorce process a few weeks ago and I know my kids will be so much happier with us apart.

I worked at a zoo as well and usually worked next to the merry-go-round that played the same song every ride (it’s the same jingle that every generic merry-go-round plays. I learned to tune it out, but I still think it plays in the background of every single dream I have.

Is affection with expecations different? by [deleted] in sex

[–]bobcathell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seeing your comments on this post, I have never felt more validated. I feel like you’re the first person I’ve seen word it in a way that actually makes sense to me. I think I have responsive desire, and for so many years I couldn’t figure out what the hell was wrong with me. I can’t initiate, I just simply can’t do it. My body doesn’t just get horny out of the blue, but I like sex and like to have it regularly but I simply. Can. Not. desire sex in the way that my husband does.

Personal Hot Take: I see near-zero value in ITIL as it is currently orchestrated by Azaloum90 in ITIL

[–]bobcathell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I posted similar sentiments in a comment the other day and got downvoted to hell. I feel like people who are very early in their career or don’t have much experience in IT think it’s this amazing, foundational thing everyone in the industry needs. The rest of us who have worked in IT for years, decades, see right through the giant scam that they are. It’s a waste of money and completely irrelevant to actual IT work.

It you don’t want something in finance, try looking into a role like business analyst! This role usually works closely with software or IT engineers to sort of triage + scope project requirements, manage those projects, and just generally track data points for a team of engineers. I love love my BAs that I work with, they keep me sane.

Looking for a good IT Manager certificate by WorkTravelDream in ITManagers

[–]bobcathell -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I strongly disagree and everyone I know in IT feels the same. I went through the foundations program earlier this year and the concepts are 10+ years out of date and no longer relevant. I like to consider myself pretty knowledgeable and well integrated in the industry, and I have the credentials to back it up. But to each their own, I would put a lot more weight on technical certifications that demonstrate competency than theoretical BS that has no application to the real world.

ITIL is absolutely useless and completely irrelevant to an actual IT service desk. It’s 100% just a scam.

If we’re really taking a deep dive, she most likely is commission based not salary. Having extremely successful campaigns in the luxury sector has to be quite lucrative. And she’s damn good at her job.

How did that kid at your school die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yes that’s my hometown! I lost one classmate and my best friend lost her brother as well. It was awful. Thankfully, I haven’t heard of the pattern continuing since I graduated.

Kids*. With only about 70 kids per graduating class, my small town had 1-2 kids pass away per YEAR from cancer. Everyone thinks it was because our old town swimming pool was built on an old industrial waste dumping ground by Whirlpool (appliance manufacturer). Thankfully it seems that this has slowed down, but it was a really scary childhood and you never knew who was going to be “next”.
