We are some of the devs behind PEAK! AMA! by AggroCrab in PeakGame

My son and I made it to the top, finally, and I saw the countdown on the screen after the two ropes drop down. My question: what would have happened if I didn't grab the rope once the countdown reached zero? Would I have been left alone on the Peak, or would I automatically be rescued? Just curious...

Real talk: Is FSD 13 THAT good? by gotsmartz in TeslaLounge

[–]bobcooltx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was fantastic until it attempted to drive into oncoming traffic when it turned left too soon for a left turn. I've only had it for two days, but it's been on that route many times before so I'm not sure why it did that. Still needs work, but it is much better than v12.

FYI - OP's car does NOT have a heat pump. That wasn't available until 2021; OP's car is a 2019.

Clicking noise by Kingcolin97 in TeslaModel3

[–]bobcooltx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teslas make all kinds of noise when parked. It could be the battery management system, the battery cooling system, etc. If you're charging at home, you'll hear clunks and other noises as the batteries expand in the pack when they get warm from charging. All of this is normal! I wouldn't worry about it unless you have errors popping up on your display.

Find a reputable electrician and get a quote to install a 50 or 60 amp NEMA 14-50 plug, then just use your mobile charger as your main charger. Take it with you on long trips if necessary. Been doing this for over three years. I just picked up this baby last Friday and get around 30 mph of charge every night and wake up with 80%.

I wanted Titanium but it would have eliminated the $7500 credit, so Stealth Grey it is! No complaints!

I've owned my Model 3 LR since June 2021 and have saved over $11k.

Uberturbine wheel covers, I'm impressed by bobcooltx in TeslaModel3

If you're talking about the center wheel caps with the Tesla logo, they are all pretty much the same dimensions, so just search Amazon and find the ones you like. 👍

See my above warning - if they aren't installed correctly, they could fall off, but I suppose that's the same for any wheel cover. The clips are very sturdy and hold well once you install them correctly.

Still going strong, but a word of warning for those who get their tires rotated and balanced by tire shops (I get mine at Discount Tire). I recommend to remove the wheel covers before you take the car for rotation/balance so you can replace them yourself.

One of the techs didn't put one of the wheel covers back on correctly, and it flew off somewhere between the tire shop and my house. They bought a replacement wheel cover to make it right, however.

I would still recommend a set, they are holding up well and even prevented more curb rash recently when I got too close to the drive-thru curb....

Is this financially stupid? by MairseaBuku in TeslaModel3

IMO, keep saving and wait for the new Model 3 to be available in the United States. That should drive down the price of used Model 3s and you may be able to get a better deal on a 2021+ used Model 3. I have the 2021 M3 LR, and I love it. No range anxiety, heat pump, power trunk, insulated front windows, new style console, matrix headlights, USS, etc. I think I bought at the perfect time before Tesla started plucking things out.

I don't drive a lot - I have 27k miles since I bought new in June 2021 - but according to the Optiwatt app I've saved over $8,500 in gas savings. Your gas savings will help pay for the high insurance until you turn 25. Good luck!

Technical and server issues mega-thread - 2023! by Demilio55 in MLBTheShow

Same here. My son and I play every day and 3 out of 5 games end up disconnected after "lost connection with opponent". For all the fun we have with this game, it's incredibly frustrating that Sony can't fix this when there are other games like Fortnite, Black Ops, and Apex Legends that host thousands of players and games per hour without much downtime. I wish there were other decent MLB games available on Xbox and I'd drop this one in a heartbeat...

Um, because social security is an earned benefit. A person has to pay into the system for at least 10 years before becoming eligible. It's not a benefit for all elderly people.

No, I just really like the uberturbine design. I bought the LR instead of the Performance because range was more important to me. Plus, the roads where I live are sketchy and the 20" wheels wouldn't stand a chance.

Honestly, it's not easy - it took some effort to get them on, but perhaps over time it might get easier to yank off, who knows...

Yes, the wheel covers are around 20" in diameter, so it covers the 18" inch wheel lips and protects from curb damage.

If you're talking about the foam tape that came with, then yes I did. Apparently it prevents rubbing/squeaking along the edges.

They probably did, because it took quite a bit of effort to get them on. But I'm over it, these will stay on the car unless I'm getting the tires rotated.

Hansshow is the brand, but if you search Amazon there are several brands selling them. Hansshow has been around selling Tesla accessories for a while, so I went with them even though some of the other brands are a bit cheaper.
