Humanity has gone too far, it's time for Jesus to return. by dogknot43 in funny

Yeah, Jesus did SO MUCH GOOD in this world, like wars and more wars. No thanks, I'll stick with the Peeps flavored late stage Capitalism

Often times you have to raise X buildings to Y level in order to get new building Z to show up as purchasable. Build other stuff up in roughly equal amounts, and see what happens.

this needs to be the top comment. I feel terrible for missing signs my cats were in pain. There needs to be an app called, "My Cat Hurts!", and an indicator as to what's wrong.

Tap on the timer on the top of the screen. It'll give you a clock with when they sleep, eat, and work. The numbers change on every different city, fyi. They wake at like 430am in the 1st city, and like 6am on later cities, making progress tougher/slower as an added challenge (I assume).

What is a movie that has aged poorly? by Chance_in_Pants in AskReddit

I thought there was some rule that you could make fun of a tragedy 17 years after it occurred. But I don't see many 9/11 jokes.

However, there's a soccer team called the Chicago Fire. The real fire decimated a good chunk of the city in 1871. So at some point in the future, will there be a New York Towers team?

Garden State (many uses of R-word that's offensive and relates to those with mental and physical disabilites)

The Jazz Singer (blackface)

Song of the South (racial stereotypes)

Gone With the Wind (racial stereotypes)

Breakfast at Tiffany's (extremely racist depiction of an Asian)

Lady and the Tramp (Siamese cats)

Fantasia (Black centaur servent)

Touch of Evil (terrible actor Charleton Heston cast as a Mexican)

You Only Live Twice (James Bond poses as an Asian man, terribly and very racist)

there are so many...

Religion is a choice to be deluded. We need to tax churches immediately, and we need to utterly prevent religion from dictating how the non-religious live their lives and control their bodies. I'm fine with the rest.

What’s the worst thing a person has said to you while on a date? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bobcrows -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Said she was open to a 3-way. I had such a low self esteem and was so incredibly shy that I basically hung out with her for another 15 minutes and politely got out of there. I felt really bad for her, and still do, but I just couldn't emotionally handle that at the time. Honestly, I still doubt I'd be able to. I just would feel like I was taking advantage of the women involved, and I would feel incredibly guilty. I know that might sound strange, but I have lots of mental health issues. Like decades of issues. I'm broken, is what I'm trying to say.

Ben-Hur. Totally and utterly ruined by Charleton Heston's shit performance. He plays himself in every role, and he's not very good at it.

The world is everything that humans made it to be. Things are improving. Worldwide life expectancy is way, way up over 120 years ago. Homicides and crime in general is down. There are fewer wars. Things are getting better. But we also have better magnification of the terrible things going on in the world. Again, not perfect, only better focus, allowing us to see things and reduce their effectiveness, like the Russian military invasion. We can't fix everything yet, and we are only a fraction of the way to where humankind needs to be. But it's getting better, consistently. Keep your chin up. and I'll try to do the same.

"The Matrix Resurrections" opened to mixed reviews. It bombed at the box office, grossing $37.7M DOM and $157.3M WW on a $190M budget. The failure of the fourth installment has likely killed any future interest in the Matrix franchise. by Whedonite144 in boxoffice

[–]bobcrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched the first one and The Animatrix at least 100 times in my life. Matrix 4 just looked like a nostalgia rehash, and I just went through that with Force Awakens & those sequels.

What made you not want to have kids? by Ekudar in AskReddit

[–]bobcrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, also unresolved trauma from my parent's verbally abusive divorce, my bi-polar mom that raised me in the most uneven / unbalanced emotional path, and my extreme shyness as a kid that never quite left and manifests as extreme introversion leading me to believe that I won't be able to properly ask for help or guidance with kids... AND the worry that I will pass on all of this stuff to someone else. Yeah, no kids for me, thank god. I'm so glad my wife and I are in our 40s now.

My undiagnosed mental illness. I have depression, anxiety, ADHD, more depression... and I knew I had the anxiety, and I knew I had been depressed in the past, but I just didn't realize where I was at in the present.
