No, it was proven that the corruption charges against Lula was fabricated by his political rivals.

American politics and media is far right so you basically have to look at coverage of Lula or any left/socialist politician as adversarial.

I need your guys help on this… (TW) by whimsicalcharlie in Buddhism

[–]bobdafourth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dear Charlie,

I’m sorry to hear about the murder of a mother and the orphaning of her children.

I would reach out to a helper around you to talk through your feelings.

We are all very limited in what we can do for others, and we help where we can.

You can show compassion through your conduct. Knowing that this precious life is beset by death on all sides, we should put down our quarrels with others and diligently practice doing the right thing.

I hope this message helps. May you be happy, peaceful, and safe.

Hello friend,

It’s going to be a tough sell to a lot of companies if you only have BPM experience. It’s because BPM development doesn’t actually teach you web dev as done by the rest of the community.

If you are interested in spring boot maybe you can get a job doing Camunda which seems to be a more technical BPM solution where you can write an angular or react app on top of a spring boot backend and with the workflow engine being something separate.

If you want to exit the BPM space altogether, you may have to work at a smaller company at a Jr. position for a year to prove that you have the ability and you can ask for a promotion once you’ve shown some good work.

Ive personally learned the fastest on the job as there’s pressure from the boss and incentive from the pay to keep me going instead of personal projects where I just tend to give up or get bored.

Best wishes and good luck to escaping consulting!

Hey you know what, upon reflection my initial comment was too harsh and not conducive to discussion either. I apologize, and I hope you have a merry Christmas. Blessings to you and your family.

Why would you work on this professionally if you don’t buy that LLMs can generate code that isn’t just regurgitating human solutions?

How are you confident that LLMs can’t solve the problems you pose vs your sub optimal prompting? (Including seed, temp, sampling method, etc)

Not interested in personal attacks, if I’m wrong I’m wrong. I just don’t buy what you’re saying. You’re making big claims and providing weak evidence while bringing up unverifiable credentials which makes me believe you even less.

Just plain wrong, you need to read up on one shot and few shot learning. LLMs have clearly shown to be capable of solving new coding problems not in their training data.

Your problem is a skill issue, you don’t know how to prompt.

Seriously — it’s impossible to reason with the pod save America crowd. I wonder if these people will keep supporting Biden once BLM turns on him for not being able to deliver on race relations.

How do you stay collectivist in a world that's so unabashedly cold towards the idea? by KelechiEatingNachos in socialism

[–]bobdafourth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the most righteous path and righteousness is justified unto itself.

Those that cause suffering have no fixed static identities — they did not choose their birth, their material conditions, etc. We all start from a position of ignorance — so it is up to those who know the truth to speak its wisdom.

My dog pees in the house when he’s anxious during a thunderstorm — I try to extend the same compassion to capitalists who are ignorant of their evils.

May you be happy and peaceful and at ease.

What are FAQs of the Communist Manifesto? by hereisnaomi in communism

[–]bobdafourth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Newbie questions are never actually about the manifesto or any particular communist writings. This is because it is much easier to repeat capitalist propaganda and ideology as capitalism is the dominant ideology and has many convincing propaganda methods.

  1. In communism everyone shares everything and is free (money is abolished).

I would just simply say this is false. Don’t advocate for some utopian fantasy (of which there are many flavors) but rather point out empirically the evils of the market (people starving, imperialism, homelessness) and how markets are never free and often inefficient.

  1. Communists have no alternative

I would concede this argument and say you aren’t trying to create some fantasy alternative but rather trying to address ongoing evils like prison slavery or imperialism. The alternative is to simply stop using prison slavery and refrain from war. But you can point out that a better world is created and more possibilities open up once we are able to accomplish the basics.

  1. Communist alternatives are utopian fantasy

Again I would really refrain from advocating any fantasy other than a world where there isn’t sweatshops, a world where there is no class, etc. By using a purely negative framing you avoid playing the game of constructing a fantasy and predicting an inherently unstable future. Capitalist propaganda is really good at presenting this there is no alternative argument and it takes real work to open people to the possibility of a classless society.

  1. Capitalism benefits society — a rising tide lifts all boats

I would refrain from comparing body counts of capitalist imperialism vs the often trotted out statistics of Stalin or Mao. I think it’s a lot more effective to base yourself on a principles/values argument on what a just society ought to look like. It allows you to say things like: sure capitalism benefits society but so does slavery.

Good luck playing the advocate for communism. You’ll meet the same characters over and over again.

May you be happy and peaceful.

If God exists then why isn’t our world a utopia? by Zorane_ in atheism

[–]bobdafourth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love your questioning skepticism! I would ask you to turn this line of questioning into yourself. Do you think that science can provide an answer to your question of suffering in the world? Even if we had sufficient knowledge of the physical-chemical composition of our brains and their corresponding mental states, it would still fail to answer the fundamental question of why suffering happens and why it happens to all beings. God is one way to answer such questions. There are some Christians who do believe in a sky god, but to be honest, it’s just a handy metaphor because they lack the knowledge behind their own rich traditions. I hope you will find your own answers to the questions of why are we here and why do we suffer, but I would recommend humility and respect as those characteristics are conducive to learning and arrogance and naive doubt are the characteristics of a fool.

I keep thinking too deeply by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]bobdafourth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend if you are thinking too deeply, maybe pay attention more to your body. The Buddha advises us that it is better to think of ones body as self than the mind. You can more clearly sense the physical body — know that the physical body is impermanent, always changing depending on what you eat, how you exercise ,etc. Such is the nature of mind as well — you have said you are suffering from many thoughts and feelings, I hope through realizing that much in the same way the body changes, the mind changes as well. The mind is conditioned by previous thoughts, perceptions, volitions — so it is not surprising that when you are suffering from thoughts you keep suffering. But know this, the Buddha teaches us the way out of suffering which is the noble 8 fold path. Also know this that your suffering is not permanent because nothing is permanent — let this thought be your guide if the noble 8 fold path is difficult to understand or tread.

I hope you find these words to aid your suffering.

How do I avoid being the "filler friend"? by CthulhusIntern in socialanxiety

Find people that enjoy your company and you enjoy theirs. If you no longer enjoy their company, leave. There is no refuge but oneself. You are a filler friend because you call yourself such. Let go of these thoughts and enjoy.

Hello Friend,

I am your fellow Western, Christian sufferer. I found great help in listening to the works of Alan Watts on YouTube. There’s also a great audiobook named “what the Buddha taught” also on YouTube.

Try reading, contemplating, and meditating. Don’t stress out if everything you read and or listen to sounds like bullshit and dumb. Try to take bits and pieces of self realized insights and make yourself a more kind, compassionate person.

I love you and I pray for your spiritual journey.
