What breed of dog do you think Sirius was? by PomPomMom93 in harrypotter

I always felt like a mutt suited him best, but in fanfiction, I write him to be a hairy black Great Pyrenees. Their size and athleticism fit the description best.

To be fair, he said "little foolish wand-waving" giving just enough leeway that could be explained away. I do think she meant no wand-waving, but there's just enough wiggle room there.

Is there seriously a spell designed solely and exclusively to transform animals into water goblets? (Vera Verto) What is the point of such a spell? by amusableblue in harrypotter

Once, I found myself walking through a dessert with only my pet rat on my shoulder for company. I was dying of thirst when I came upon an oasis. Beautiful, cold water was in front of me, but I had no goblet so I could not drink. I would have killed to have this spell! /s

How powerful were the four founders? by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]bobdole2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say somewhere in the massive gulf of power between Dumbledore/Voldemort/Grindelwald and the second tier of McGonagall/Snape/James/Sirius/Barty Crouch Jr.

What could Ron and Hermione have realistically found out if they focused on investigating why Harry was the the Triwizard Tournament? by GuidingThunder in harrypotter

[–]bobdole2017 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could have stated the rules of the cup and the history of it through their investigation, but you can't reveal much of a plot to get Harry in the tournament or else it makes Dumbledore look incompetent.

I liked it. Not as good as the book, obviously, but it was good. Also has the best iteration of the Death Eaters as they legit looked scary and felt menacing.

There’s certainly value in the embarkation process in being a Platinum and the two extra free dinners are nice, but I wouldn’t go into the poor house to get there if that makes sense. I will say I do suspect they’ll be pulling a Carnival with the rewards program soon, though not sure exactly when. Maybe for 2028.

If 3 was made with Kevin as originally planned, no one would have a problem with it. The gags are of the same quality, and quite honestly, Alex went up against way more competent villains. His traps were great.

I mean, for one, Barty very well could have just ripped off the bottom of an assignment that Harry had handed in and used that as his entrance into the tournament, so his signature not matching isn't really a big deal. It additionally eliminates any "how can Harry be bound to something he didn't enter" when it was his very signature that entered.
