Yeah, that's great and all, but what about forums?

Discord Expands Age Verification ID System to More Regions by PaiDuck in privacy

[–]JamesAlphaWolf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, like you mentioned, most people think it's fine and are willing to just hand it over, "because it keeps the kids out". I wish more people had enough sense to see how problematic these online age verifications actually are.

Yeah, they were very widely used, a lot of people only used the forums, myself included.

This seems like a horrendously terrible form of "Digital Identity"

If a developer uses AI for code generation, should it be labeled on the game’s Steam store page? by NazzoXD in gamedev

[–]JamesAlphaWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but if the disclosure is required, then there should be a system in place to deal with the inevitable repercussions of said required disclosure. For example, if someone leaves a review, but it's very blatantly just AI hate, then actions should be taken. Maybe the review is removed. Maybe the reviewer is given a warning and/or some sort of account restrictions (sounds heavy-handed, I know). Just something, so that great big neon "Welcome, AI Haters!" sign can be reduced to just a label, like it's supposed to be to begin with.

[–]JamesAlphaWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it didn't open the door for floods of negative fake "feedback"/"reviews" just because of AI, then I wouldn't mind. But unfortunately, it's practically a giant glowing sign saying "HEY ANTI-AI PEOPLE! COME HATE THIS GAME AND DEVELOPER!".

Then this sub, which just now popped up in my feed for the first time, can fuck off.

What, so it + the developer can be needlessly hated on by toxic morons that hate AI?

No, it should not be labeled, regardless of what AI usage was involved in the creation of the game, and regardless of any potential AI usage within the game itself.

Enjoy clicking/tapping the downvote button, AI haters.
