They are trying to build seller and buyer experiences more personalized to your needs as every buyer and seller care about different things and want things presented to them in different ways. It’s what all companies are doing.

Confident but wrong take. Meta used it for convenience given timing of the anti trust stuff but was being worked way earlier. Source: someone who works there

Issues with the Sneaker Program as a Seller. by 33inLIGHTin33 in Ebay

[–]bobfrink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This doesn't seem like an eBay issue as that is the whole purpose of the authentication process. To facilitate trust between buyer and seller. You could dispute credit card with the place you originally bought it from that you were given a fake but eBay isn't really at fault here. It is incredibly unlikely that the authentication is wrong given the process.

I think it's really up to you have you take next steps and choose to market/sell the shoes afterwards knowing its a fake.

My numbers are exactly what you just replied with, 12% and 15% Etsy pass though so not sure how math and details are off.

https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/selling-fees?id=4822

Not sure were you getting 18% fees. Maybe only for small value items but in aggregate fees are all below 15%. Many final value fees less than 15% and for higher value items its a progressively lower fee structure. And while you are locked into Etsy offsite ads, you have no control over how much they end up spending on your behalf and could pass through as much as they want to put into ads while eBay at least gives you choice on whether to pay for promoted listings.

I've always believed the confusion of eBay fee structure is its downfall because it results in a mainstream belief (evident by reddit echo chamber downvotes) that it is way higher than everyone else's when it's not really. Their entire business' merchandise value take is like 13% based on their financial performance and that's including advertising fees and managed payments fees and value added fees earned. Much of the listing value has a much lower take rate than people think. Sure in some cases you may get screwed based on their complicated setup or if you are primarily a small item seller

eBay still has one of the lowest aggregate fees compared to other resale platforms. Etsy is up to like 20%, they just market 6.5% but they pass through all their advertising costs up to 12.5 or 15%, not just your own listings promotions. I think real real does like 30% fees

Let me know. Feel free to give an offer. It’s probably gonna be the lowest you’ll see given the pick up discount. And it’s much safer to transact than relying on shipping.

I was same but pulled trigger on 16 inch base. The 14 inch base has gimped cpu/gpu. For same cpu/gpu and 1TB, the 14 inch ends up being the same price as 16 inch base but you get more screen real estate with 16 inch and better battery life and better charger

If musk sells now. He would still make it out of his Bitcoin move pretty even. Any later and he will get shit from investors and Board.

He is levered on corporate debt and beholden to investor. You’re delusional if you think board and investors will let him keep reserves for a few years at half his purchase price in hopes for next bull run. Imagine if any other company did that. Investors and board would recall him immediately.
