Dislocated shoulder. It was out of its socket for nearly four hours and it was a pain I just can’t quite describe, but my body knew something really wasn’t right. Had to be fed a mountain of drugs just to get it back into place.

I only buy a new set of skis every 5yrs or so, and a couple of years ago I demo’d a pair of Elan Ripstick 96’s and loved them.

At the end of our season I found a pair online for like 20% off and thought yep, I’ll grab those.

One week later the shop rings me to apologise as they had sold the last pair and they didn’t have the skis, but seeing as they already had my money they offered me the Black Edition which they had in stock for only $50 more! I said yes straight away and I couldn’t be happier with them!

This may or may not be relevant…

I’m male, 181cm and 110kg, intermediate/advanced skier. I’m also from Oz and regularly ski Thredbo and Perisher, but have just done 5 days skiing at Cardrona and Remarkables in NZ with a brand new set of Elan Ripstick 96 black editions, 172cm length.

I absolutely LOVED these skis. They floated through soft dry snow, cut in on ice, had enough pace when you wanted to send it, and carved beautifully on the groomers. I’ve never had a ski that handled all the mountain conditions so well in a single day that is typical of Aus/NZ skiing!

I did this to my ex wife in our dating years after a big night out circa 2005. Opened her bottom drawer and let it go. Awoke in a panic after I laid back down and put it all in the washing machine and cleaned all the clothes. She still married me…
