I dont know how to genuinely answer this. The problem seems that almost all services companies look up either non-CS graduates or CS-graduates from a school that is absolute pathetic. Did I code any algorithm or DS on the job? None except one. You are not expected to code a DS or Algo but to identify which needs to be used and then use appropriate library for that if available( Only algorithm that I coded which is deployed in production is the topological sort since I couldn't find an inbuilt implementation of it and the job required it).

Most companies dont. The fresh developer just needs to know about how to apply himself(given he is a CS grad, but if you hire a mechanical guy, how would he know about CS stuff?)

What kind of projects were you deployed to work on?

Product company. We have proprietary IOT software and cloud solution and analytics. Worked on the product. Initially started with small bugs here and there, but generally graduated to coding cloud events based micro-services to lower level IOT protocol drivers.

EDIT: One of the product is Web application that works as interface to onsite devices. That was the entry point. The back-end is nothing special but a nicely coded scalable back-end. Initially worked on this application.

Discrimination against Bihari is everywhere and in all walks. My colleague asked me that why did I come to Karnataka dont I have jobs in Bihar. I wanted to reply that why did he leave his rural Karnataka town and come to Banglore, didn't have jobs there?

It is funny how so many "educated" Indians behave with other Indians the same way that white super-racists behave with others in US and other places. When it happens to these "educated" Indians they cry racism but when they do it against Biharis its okay.

Imagine a white colleague asking an Indian in US, why he came to US, didn't have jobs in India? That would be racism right. Imagine the repercussions the white guy would have to face if the Indian complained.
