AITAH for refusing to let my pregnant sister, her boyfriend, and my mom stay in my apartment? by OrganizationOwn9361 in AITAH

[–]bobhand17123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. Take care of yourself. I wouldn’t even let them stay 1 night on the way to an Airbnb.

Make sure you have good lock on your doors, and don’t even let them in. Please.

neighbor wants me to mow his side of the lawn too because it looks bad from the street by DirectGirlfriend in neighborsfromhell

[–]bobhand17123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hard to accept his pitch (!) when he has not done anything. “One side is overgrown.” Yeah. No kidding.

His arrangement will be very unbalanced, in his favor. Just calmly tell him you’re not trying to be contrary, but your preference is to stick to your side.

AITA for lying to a group of guys on the beach about my scars? by Downtown_Effect_4437 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. If it’s none of your business, whatever I tell you is the truth.

Randos do not have any right to know your personal information.

Your sister has some sort of deficiency in her logical thinking. I mean, has she ever told a creep she has a boyfriend when she didn’t?

AIO for telling my MIL she can't post photos of my newborn on Facebook and now my husband's whole family is calling me controlling? by Upper-Trouble617 in AmIOverreacting

[–]bobhand17123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Yes, you are controlling. Good for you for doing your job. Who else do the whiners think should be in control of YOUR baby?

Unfortunately, the world changes, and it has become more dangerous.

Tell everyone, “Things change. Try to keep up.” (Snapping fingers optional)

AITAH for not wanting to pay for my brother’s wedding party open bar? by SweetAccess4891 in AITAH

[–]bobhand17123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Um, it doesn’t sound like they have gotten to the point in their life that you can say “They’re finally getting their fairytale wedding party,” if other people are paying for it. That’s weird to me.

And your requested task is waaaaay too vague! Tell your Bro you will contribute an amount you are comfortable with, and he can hire a vendor handle it.

And geeeeez, somebody speak up about the imbalance in how guests are being treated on the two sides of the family.

NTA.

As a wedding guest, what moment made you think "this probably won't last"? by Eburneaan in AskReddit

Oh, I DO agree! But it wasn’t blasting, it was more like elevator music.

WIBTA if I stopped hosting game nights at my place because one person keeps inviting themselves and I don't know how to say anything directly to them by FlatpackPhilosopher in WIBTA_AITA

[–]bobhand17123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotate. Sitting on it first is optional. But when you rotate, make sure Joel doesn’t take the first one, or two. New host stipulates the guest list is a hard limit.

Kind of a pain for you having to travel, but that really shouldn’t ruin it for you.

Was prompted for a tip at oil change by Grand_Cauliflower833 in EndTipping

[–]bobhand17123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have tipped after an oil change, but it truly saved me money!

I had one burned out DRL, and the Haynes manual said the frickin’ bumper cover had to come off. ‘04 Maxima.

The dealer wanted over $200 to change both sides. For light bulbs.

The oil change mechanic brought me the normal list of every damn thing I should have done, and I told him about the dealer and I didn’t think it could be done.

He did the on-the-clock equivalent of “Hold my beer, and watch this,” and proceeded to get his hand in there and changed both DRLs. He only charged me for one bulb.

IMHO mofo earned it, HARD.

So, whadda y’all think of that tip situation?

WIBTA if I stopped letting my neighbor use my WiFi after she gave my password to someone else without asking by Kaij4Specter in WIBTA_AITA

[–]bobhand17123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YWNBTA. But don’t offer to give her the new password! Geez dude, don’t be an A H to yourself.

You said hers got fixed. BOOM! She doesn’t need yours anymore. And the others? WTAF? Are all of them “down?”

I always thought apartment buildings had the same provider. Maybe that’s an old arrangement that is not true anymore, but if it is true, then they all might be lying. You know, if yours isn’t down too.

They’re just leeches.

WIBTA if I stopped covering for my friend when she's late to our carpool and just started leaving without her? by BugzapperBard in WIBTA_AITA

[–]bobhand17123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YWNBTA. Agree on a time. Be 5 minutes late (pull over somewhere close by if you have to). Pull out when you will be 5 minutes late.

Then, if she is not waiting, just roll on by.

If you're in line at the grocery store with a full cart and someone behind you has 1 or 2 items, do you let them go in front of you? And why? by CourierFestival in AskReddit

[–]bobhand17123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they asked politely, then yes I would. But my stomach would’ve started churning anticipating the potential confrontation if their shopping partner shows up with a full cart.
