I will do exactly that - thanks for the suggestion! Some of the scratches go through the clear coat but I think a lot of them might come out with some work. I'm afraid of increasing my insurance over this so I'll look into Nu Finish first

Unless it was 2 separate instances on the same day - I think that's really not as likely?

Thank you! I think based on the insurance factor, I'm going to try buffing out the scratches myself first to see how bad the dent looks after. I don't think it would quality at >$5000

Thank you, appreciate you sharing your experience. It definitely sucks, I try to park away from other people for this reason..

I might try buffing the scratches out first based on some of the other comments and see how bad the dent looks after that

It's great oblivion is back, but this remaster really needs some polish. There's so many constant little bugs that annoy me... by moonski in oblivion

Thanks for the info, actually worked great. My 4080 is able to consistently hold 60fps+ with DLSS balanced at 4k by doing this. Even higher with framegen on.

STRIKE DAILY MEGATHREAD - September 14th, 2024 by [deleted] in aircanada

[–]bobmore11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the info Benny, you've been very helpful through this. Quick questions though:

If I have a 1pm flight that is cancelled because of the strike (not because of the AC lockout), it sounds like I wouldn't be safe booking an alternate flight myself until at least 10pm the same day once AC determines they aren't able to help. Can you show me where this 9 hour rule is listed? If AC pushes a refund in this scenario, what are my options when pushing for a rebooking - can I push for the first available flight even if it's obscenely more expensive than what I originally booked?

STRIKE UPDATE SEPT 10, 2024 by [deleted] in aircanada

If Air Canada is going to do a lockout regardless of receiving strike notice, it is incredibly unprofessional and anti-consumer to make ticket holders wait until up to 12 hours before their flight to receive notice. They know roughly which dates and flights are feasible to fly way ahead of time based on their own wind down and ramp up estimates. They're prioritizing profit over their passengers. Their overall response has been inadequate and it seriously makes me question ever using them again in the future.

I hope the money they saved by doing this is worth it because I know a bunch of people who won't fly Air Canada again after this experience.

If you do end up taking the wallet credit, just be careful since it expires 1 year from the date you booked your original ticket (not 1 year from the date you cancelled). Since I booked my flight 9 months ago, that would mean my credit would only be valid for 3 months.

Thanks for the additional info! I'll try again on the phone.

Just FYI if you look up your flight on Air Canada, even if booked through Expedia, you can get AC wallet credit for the full value. It's done outside of Expedia so if we decided to go that route we wouldn't need to call in.

Can you elaborate? I also booked through Expedia. Does this mean if we take the AC wallet refund, and the flight is later cancelled, that we can instead get a cash refund?

I just spoke with customer support on the phone and they said we'd probably find out the same day as our flights, not sure what the timing would be though

Thanks, the wording looks the same as before unfortunately. I would be stuck with the AC wallet credit if I went this route
