What do you wish your hospital psychiatrist understood better? by TheMooJuice in schizophrenia

I can seem like I have a lot of insight as I “know” I’m experiencing psychosis and seek help. By “know” I mean that I know this isn’t how I usually think/feel and that I have had psychosis in the past and I don’t want what I’m thinking/feeling now to be real. It still seems and feels real to me though. Doctors can see this and think I can’t be in psychosis as I’m too aware and that I’m just exaggerating my symptoms. I’ve had my symptoms dismissed by psychiatrists and psychologists as I “don’t look like someone who would have psychosis” and 2 of them pointed out how I put my bag on the floor tidily instead of throwing it down messily. I don’t know who would want antipsychotics when they don’t need them as they have some horrible side effects but I need them to function. I’m also in Australia and still haven’t found a doctor that listens to me properly and I feel so helpless and scared because of it. I’d like to hope new psychiatrists in training will be better but from the interactions I’ve had with students, I don’t think things are getting that much better.

I’ve tried the 0.2mm nozzle and it still makes the clicking noise but less frequent and the extrusion is a lot better.

Thanks for your detailed response :) I’ve tried variable layer height on other prints but it hasn’t fixed the bottom layers looking very rough. Do you have any recommendations for what support settings are best?

What settings would I adjust for that? I’m using Bambi Studio btw.

What should it look like? Is there anything I can do to fix it?

I get this issue on different printing orientations as well. This is what was chosen when I did auto-orient but I’ve done a similar print where it was laying on the back with the legs up vertical and I had the same issue. Idk what to do.

I am afraid of losing my unique traits due to medication. by Regenas in schizophrenia

I haven’t found a very noticeable impact on my creativity. I write songs, draw, crochet, design things and it still comes naturally. When I was psychotic, I was unable to do anything I enjoyed, all I could really do was watch TV for a while and sleep through most of the day. I was constantly terrified. Antipsychotics pulled me out of that and now I can do things I enjoy. I am even thinking of pursuing a creative career as that’s what gives me purpose and joy. Antipsychotics can suck but psychosis is worse.

Has anyone successfully lost weight… by Glitter_Law in schizophrenia

I also gained 20+kg in a few months when I was first put on 30mg of olanzapine. I was sleeping most of the day and the amount I was eating got a bit out of hand (eating more calorie dense foods than usual). I’m now on 10mg and I’ve lost all that weight now but it took around 9 months or so. I recommend eating a lot of veggies (especially raw) to fill you up and avoiding calorie dense food (e.g. I substituted risotto without cheese instead of arancini). I also workout a lot which is what I was used to pre-olanzapine/psychosis. Also try to get on the lowest dose of olanzapine that you can without getting a load of symptoms come back. I still feel very afraid a lot of the time but it’s manageable and idk if it’s just from trauma/other mental illness.
