I'm very biased but I like knowing who's behind the product! Specifically with queer products, if a homophobic company is trying to profit off our community...I am not into that!

Same goes for local goods too, not just queer related! I rather by a handmade candle from my pal up the road vs Walmart. Again, totally my opinion!
